Description
Produced as a versatile ship, from escorting capital ships, complementing cruisers and leading DD flotillas, the 2821 Class acts as a high speed gunboat, guided missile destroyer anti-Subspace warfare platform.

With a traditional human design, the cross section resembles a hexagon, while the view from the top is closer to a coffin in shape.

A total of 158 have been built, with a further 212 ordered for various clients and for company use.

Armour

15m thick belt covering the vital portions amidships with an additional 5 on the stern to protect propulsion. The sloped decks have a 5 metre thickness, with a 1.5m thick inner hull, much like a submarine. Armour is a mix of Graphene reinforced OsTi alloy plating and Durendite, the new material aiding in protection against energy weapons.

Turret Faces are 15m thick, with sides 2.5m thick and 3m thick tops.

Armament

-8 125"/45 Railguns in high angle double gun turrets, firing AP-Thermonuclear or High-Yield thermonuclear shells for nonconventional encounters (55 megatons and 130 megatons respectively) along with standard APHE and smart fuse SAP-HE (Copper driving sleeve, osmium-graphene core with octanitrocubane filler). All turrets are capable of 360 degrees rotation, 90 degree elevation and 20 degree depression. Turrets are located on the centreline of the vessel, fore and aft of the superstructure.
The guns are fed by autoloaders though semi-automatic loading is available if the ship is crippled, fire rate ranging from 25 rounds per minute to 38.

Muzzle velocity is 1850 km/s, up to .25c if a Projectile Acceleration Computer is used for non-conventional engagements.

-56 50"/55 railguns in high angle quadruple gun turrets, firing smart-fuse APHE and smart-fuse SAP-HE, capable of intercepting small craft and missiles, forming the higher end of the CIWS suite. Turrets are arranged straddling the superstructure atop, in wing turrets near the main belt and on the underdeck of the ship in centreline superfiring positions, with rotation ranging from 360, 225 and 180 degrees, 120 degree elevation and 5 degree depression. Rate of fire per gun is 50 shots per minute in automatic mode, 30 in semi automatic mode.

-74 30mm/100 gatling railguns in high angle double gun turrets with two GPCIMS pods (General Purpose Close in Missile System) with 20 missiles each. Ammunition is a mix between APHE-I Smart Fuse and APDS, each gun firing at 10,000 rounds per minute for a combined of 20,000 rounds per minute. Each gun has a 8000 round ready magazine, with up to 40 magazines per gun. Forms the light component of the CIWS suite. Muzzle velocity is 350 kilometres per second, up to .0125c if the shells are accelerated through warping at the muzzle. The GPCIMS pods are pods nestled in the central portion of the turret, armed with small yet fast missiles for intercepting small craft and incoming missiles. The pod is kept at a 30 degree elevation to help clear any obstacles, partly within the turret basket, the pod tilts to a ninety degree position for reloading from a ready magazine of 40 missiles per pod, an additional four magazines per pod can be brought from the ship's magazines. The missiles move at 850 kilometres per second, with a 10 pound octanitrocubane bursting charge and a LIDAR/RADAR/IR head, though they can also be guided in by the ship's own sensors or gunners. These turrets are found scattered throughout the ship, including positions along the centreline atop and underside, and in wing turrets near the belt. 105 degree elevation, 360 degree traverse, 5 degree depression.

-2, 10 tube VLS system on the centreline atop fore of the superstructure and on the underside amidships, capable of launching anti-shipping and anti-small craft missiles, along with land attack missiles. An 8 tube insert for each existing tube is available for loading the naval version MRShM series of missiles found in the Hydra-7 MADS.

-Up to 12 single or double mounts for 15 or 20mm weapons operated by crew in EVA gear for anti-piracy operations.

Propulsion

4 main RB-PJ0300 and 4 auxiliary RB-PJ0100 engines. PlasmaJet Engines work by igniting a small star within the engine's combustion chamber, feeding it fuel and bleeding plasma out through a nozzle, producing prodigious amounts of thrust with a relatively small engine size and minuscule fuel consumption. These engines are particularly effective, as most of the wasted energy is gathered through the walls of the nozzles and used for the ship's other systems. The nozzles are capable of thrust vectoring, aiding in the vessels manoeuvrability, the number in the engine model denotes energy output in PetaWatts.

Power production
Independent from Propulsion, 4 RB-ThN-PP-50 fusion reactors (50 Gigawatt output), 6 RB-ThN-PP-27 fusion reactors (27.3 Gigawatt output.). Each main gun turret has their own dedicated reactors to recharge the spent power cells used to fire the gun, each shell enough to fire the gun at full power once, these reactors being designated the RB-ThN-PP-27 (27.3 Gigawatt output) fusion reactor. Backup power in the form of 4 RB-ThN-PP-015 fusion reactors (15 Gigawatt output), scattered around the ship and in protected areas. The ship is also capable of harvesting energy from nearby stars or black holes.

Special Equipment: 3 'Overseer-Lite' 4.5D computer banks, 2 'Mastermind Jr.' 6D computer banks, these computers help keep the ships stable during warp, and they provide non-conventional warfare capabilities against higher beings.
