Description watercolors on 9" X 9" Arches CP 300lb WC paper

I have not painted humans for quite a while, so indeed it was a long process and quite a challenge to do a copy of the master Vermeer's The Lacemaker.

I made a mistake of using untested permanently staining (bright yellow) color and as a result, I lost my "white" for highlight on various areas. Nonetheless, I'm quite satisfied in the end to have this lacemaker painting to call my own.

Done for the Paint and Draw art challenge.

I think it turned out very nice, "mistake" or not. Your highlights might not be pure white anymore but they are definitely there!
Well done!

There are some small areas that lost the highlight because of the staining yellow. I just could not lift the color(yellow) out of the tiny spots. Apparently only I could see that. Thank you copine for looking and commenting.

I also like this type of art, that's why I tried to tackle the challenge even though I'm so busy. It seems like I like to work...under pressure. Thank you for your comment, Jas
