Yeah, I think I could pretty easily sell both. Β My etsy store could use the business! Β :-P
Do you have any recommendations for other color combinations? Β The "frozen" color is pretty nice, but I'm always game to try new palates!Β

Thank you so much! Β I don't get to wear it very much, but I do enjoy prancing around in it when the weather is cool enough!

I really like the upper... mantle(?) portion, it really helps continue the splaying lines in the back of the torso part. Great stuff.

Thanks! I went back to my roots by drawing a character design first, then trying to mimic the costume I drew up. Sometimes it's impossible, but this time, it totally worked!

That's awesome, that hardly ever works out for me.

Thank you very very very much! ^__^ I was really pleased with how the design of this one came out.
Actually, this is one that I did sketch out first. I usually make up a quick sketch if I'm making something I've never made before... just to lock in a visual aesthetic. More typically, I'll visualize the piece to DEATH before I even sketch one part.
This piece was sketched out with the character I had in mind. Then I pulled the costume apart to see what I'd do for the top/sleeves/skirt/etc. Minor changes were made when I patterned it out.
The costs are pretty reasonable... I spent $15 on 144 grommets, of which I used 52. I spend probably $40 on fabric, and $4 on bias tape and ribbon. So the total was roughly $50 in materials.

I buy fabric and materials at a store that's specifically a "discount fabric" store. For example, I pay $0.29 per yard of bias tape, as opposed to $1.50 per yard. Those sort of expenses add up quickly when you're using 12 yards! hahaha
