The long overdue "actual" Thrall/Jaina piece (The other one hardly counts because it's more of a joke and you can't even see Thrall in it). Something a tad bit more... romantic, I guess.I opted for the Reign of Chaos/Frozen Throne looks for both Thrall and Jaina because much as I love WoW, I will always prefer the strategy games. I also think they look less generic (correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the WoW sprites made using the same faces, hairstyles etc. that are available to the playable characters?) this way. And I know Jaina's pretty tall here if one is to believe Cycle of Hatred's claim that she's actually quite short (Keeping in mind that Thrall's huge even by orc standards) but she isn't all that short in WoW, so I don't even know anymore.
I might colour this eventually, in which case this version will be going to the scraps, but for now, I'll submit it as a deviation.

Somehow I get the feeling that the rest of the Alliance would be somewhat disgusted at this. Jaina would lose a lot of prestige and influence if she went for Thrall. The same would probably happen to him. But I agree that it's pretty good.
Just to argue some more, in the extra campaign in Frozen Throne he just seems to hide at the back and send everyone else to do the dirty work

I actually agree that it would probably be a bad political move for both of them. Though I get the feeling that the Horde in general has a slightly (just slightly, mind you) more positive view of Jaina than the Alliance has of Thrall.
As for leaving the dirty work for others, such is the part of Warchief, it seems. Going by the games, Blackhand never took part in the battles, leaving even the leading to Doomhammer, and when Doomhammer took the position, even he never appeared on the battlefield. Thrall is the first Warchief to actually fight alongside his men in the games.
That is not to say that I wouldn't have rather played him than Rexxar during Frozen Throne, but I guess there's a lot of stuff to do while building a new country that doesn't involve weapons.

Would that it were so, but the Horde and the Alliance have never been, and never will be bosom buddies, and the humans and orcs in particular have a lot of bad blood between them still. Sure, there are people like Tirion Fordring and Eitrigg, who can bff it up despite the less-than pleasant past, but they're in a minority. Most people (in lore, not in fandom) share the mindset of Varian Wrynn and even Garrosh Hellscream, and detest the other side more or less openly.
Seriously, Varian would flip his shit over Jaina/Thrall, and so would most of Stormwind. Garrosh would probably react even worse, given the fact that he's not even cool with the entire Horde, let alone Alliance or humans.

This is such a sweet picture. More Thrall/Jaina for da peoples, says I! The peaceful looks on their faces and the gentle way they're touching each other just wrenches at my heart. Nice shading too, it creates depth and detail without there actually being many shadows.
I don't mind at all if Jaina is tall, it makes more sense to me since she's supposed to be really damn powerful - magically, sure, but handling that kind of power must require an amount of physical strength too.
I'm not plugging my fic, but I want you to know that while writing my Thrall/Jaina story I've looked at this picture for inspiration every now and then

Thanks. Thrall's both a fierce warrior and a caring person. At least, that's the impression I got from the books and Reign of Chaos + the exta campaign in Frozen Throne.
