i love the shading and i do love the design. it gives the most awesome character a whole new glory that should be in the show. i like how you made the clothes look like fabric and the detail on the mane, the tail and the wings is really good. the background should be something different though. i would've went for a more crystal like backgound because of her castle and what not. over all very nicley done. the backgound that you have now sorta fits. mlp is fantasy and the brown backgound does give it an old, fantasy type feeling to it.

I get why you have this feeling about the background. That's mostly because I'm making other arts in this setting with other characters.
Made this one because of a medieval fantasy nature of this designs.
I agree that different bg would be much better and trust me, I would gladly make it but I'm a bit short on time lately, so I decided to stick with this one.
