Description Concept of a light cruiser for Fading Suns universe

Here's a ship that did not only made into history, but also wrote the history herself. The Hazat Vizcaya class light cruiser.
All three of the class - the Vizcaya, Briareos and Tifo - were commisioned in 4960s. Although designated as light cruisers, they packed quite a punch - four heavy grasers in two twin turrets, further three in chase position, as well as four heavy plasma guns, six medium and eighteen light grasers broadside. Apart from that, they carried only two torpedo tubes (which actually were omitted from the initial design).

All three cruisers took part in the first Hazat offensive on Hira in 4987. Two months later they were all considered MIA, since the invading Hazat fleet was overwhelmed by the Kurga counter-strike and the control over the jumpgate was lost.
The only one that was really lost was the Briareos, which was wrecked by Kurga cruisers while attempting to break thru the jumpgate. The other two didn't yield that easily.
The Tifo took severe damage fighting the strike group that attacked the planet itself. In a daring and almost suicide attempt, her captain managed to crash-land her in vicinity of Fort Omala (although this ship was never intended for atmospheric operations). Miraculously, both the ship and most of the crew survived, and later both her batteries and her sensor array played an important role in defense against the Kurga siege of Fort Omala. Some say that the fort was actually built around her.
Yet it was the Vizcaya that made history. When the system was cut off, she was escorting two freighters towards the planet. She managed to fend off a Kurgan light cruiser that attacked the convoy. Realising of the situation, the captain then scrapped the freighters of anything useful, squishing the supplies in every inch of the hull, and the started raiding the Kurga convoys in the system. For two years, Vizcaya turned out to be a Hira's Flying Dutchman of sorts, striking from nowhere and vanishing into the void. During these two years, she was blamed for disappearance of eight Kurga destroyers, one light cruiser, over twenty lighter escorts and no less than three dozen freighters.
And it was in 4990 when the odds turned against her, and a huge pursuit force of no less than fourteen warships cornered her in the sector of Hira jumpgate. Unexpectedly to all, the jumpgate was just opening to let a ship through. Seeing this as the only chance, the Vizcaya's captain ordered the jumpdrive engaged and flew the ship through the gate - expecting to find another Kurga system, and planning to hide in it. To his most surprise, what he saw was a Kurga covert operation - and, following the Kurgan ship, the Vizcaya arrived in Vera Cruz.
After over two years, they finally returned home - and brought news about the still defending Fort Omala. But it still took another year to assembly another strike force against thje Kurga. Only in 4993 Hazat did launch another invasion on Hira.
The Vizcaya was in the picket group that jumped through the gate as first. Although the resistnace was minimal and no Hazat ship was lost in combat that ensued, she was never seen since. Some say she was never meant to return to Hira. The others, in turn, say she actually never returned from there.
Since then, however, crews of several ships that got lost or battle-damaged in Hira system, reported sightings of a military ship's beacons that would eventually guide them either to the planet, or to the jumpgate. The ship was never spotted, yet it is said that the emission patterns comply with these of the Vizcaya.
