This is one of those cars that most people never consider would be cool to customize!

They have some of the most unique lines, it's surprising more people haven't thought about seeing what they could do even with just a paint job. The only custom versions I had seen were the Taxis from Back to the future.

well the fact is that Citroen did'nt sell enough of them in the U.S and it was considered weird for Americans,i mean most of them are left stock or die in some Junkyard

Yeah, and it's one of those things where it really was "too weird" for Americans yet look at some of the Kustom Kulture types of cars. It really is how things seem to work in America. We claim we love Rock n' Roll yet we're so secluded from the world's music it makes one wonder if we really do love things as we claim.

Then some of the muscle car era paint jobs... hell... some of the COLORS Mopar came out with. Some people hated them and some people LOVED them... me... I'm both. Anything with personality strikes me as a worthy car. If it's bright screaming dayglo green like some Mopars or powder pink like a lot of Caddies, I'd have fun with them.

Life was fun and without inhibitions... but then that got people into a lot of trouble, too. I like how it's becoming popular to take those same trends but retool them for more modern tastes.

Got a savings account for a new Camaro to park next to my 1969 Camaro! I think Dodge did a GREAT job on the Challenger, too. The demand is so high people pay way over sticker price for 'em.

HotRod-302 In reply to Mister-Lou [2009-03-17 02:28:55 +0000 UTC]
More than likely I'll just get the RS. I'd LIKE an SS and I'd LOVE a Z/28 (Since mine is a Z/28) but the Z is going to be much more expensive. Not entirely sure how much the SS will be. If it's just a couple thousand dollars I'll do an SS.

well,it'll have a 300+ Horse V6 under the hoodb, but i read in motor trend magazine that they're holding the Z/28 for now,and i said "What the Fuck?"

They need to take the Camaro back to the bargain basement that made the Camaro legendary. It was an inexpensive car. I was offered an RS that's arriving in April (I just don't have the money right now) for $24,000. I was mad the Z/28 is on hold, "With the gas crisis nobody wants to own a 19 MPG car."
I only ask myself how is it people can take the new Corvettes, throw two turbos behind the bumper, and still cruise around at 30 MPH and the Z/28 won't beat that?

i agree,i mean the old Camaros were cheap and still are but Powerful,my dad had an IROC Z,an RS Convertible,my Godfather had another IROC Z with an Exhaust sound to die for,it did'nt sound like any V8 exhaust i have ever heard,it sounded more like an Aussie Holden V8 Supercar i'm my opinion and i have a neighbor who owns an '85 Z/28

but personally i also like the Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO that were sold in the U.S,i don't care what the magazines say, that is a good looking car,it may not have the styling from the older Goats, but it has a lot of power, especially the 6.0 liter 400hp models and the Pontica G8,it could be a failure in the near future but i really don't mind

HotRod-302 In reply to Mister-Lou [2009-03-18 02:28:51 +0000 UTC]
I think the only thing they did wrong with that car was call it a GTO. If they gave it a unique name it'd still be in production today, me thinks. Perhaps sneak it under the radar as a Tempest, sure it still doesn't have the look but people didn't care about Tempests as much even with all the same lines.

Mister-Lou In reply to HotRod-302 [2009-03-18 02:34:13 +0000 UTC]
yeah,i mean they should've called it the Pontiac Monaro or the Grand Prix would have worked as well because of it's resemblance to it,a tempest would've woked as well

HotRod-302 In reply to Mister-Lou [2009-03-18 02:56:45 +0000 UTC]
Right now I only hope it GOES as far as coming out. There are some loose rumors that Pontiac may no longer exist after this year. Some people think GM may drop GMC and make them all Chevrolet, drop Pontiac, and keep Corvette and Cadillac. Buick and Pontiac may be gone, and isn't Oldsmobile already done? I've been living in a cow town all this time.

i think they're going to kill Saturn, not pontiac and Buick is having a success story of it's own in China,do you expect GM is going to kill the two brands?besides it's just a rumor

HotRod-302 In reply to Mister-Lou [2009-03-18 03:10:41 +0000 UTC]
I can see them making cut backs. I just hope ot too MANY. If Chevy can make the Volt work, I think between the Volt and the Camaro that could save them. I don't place a lot of faith in the ZR1 saving GM because $100K is a lot of money people no longer have.
Saturn is filing bankruptcy, from what i heard, to lose the connection to GM... or something. I wouldn't miss Saturn aside from the Sky... I like those.

Mister-Lou In reply to HotRod-302 [2009-03-18 03:23:53 +0000 UTC]
so what do you think of the Volt's Design, does it need a little more work or should they keep it as is?mell i wont miss Saturn because we don't have them in my country,Puerto Rico(with the exception of some people who bring them from the Mainland U.S)and the Sky sells overseas as the Opel GT,but i prefer the Solstice GXP anytime

HotRod-302 In reply to Mister-Lou [2009-03-18 03:30:21 +0000 UTC]
Stylistically the Volt is okay. It's styling is along the lines of what people all into the "Going green" mentality like but it's a bit sportier and I think it has really good mileage on the battery charge. I think it will do well IF the price is right. Also Prius has been under fire because while it doesn't pollute much now, making them creates a LOT of pollution, which more than offsets the pollution a car like my 2002 Grand Am puts out.

Mister-Lou In reply to HotRod-302 [2009-03-18 03:48:31 +0000 UTC]
pretty ironic, isn't it?the Prius is a clean car,but the factory is not,i sort of like it,and the 1.4 liter engine if i'm not wrong will only be used to recharge the Batteries, but i wish it would've used the Flex Fuel engine on it like the concept car,and the car's HP is rumored to be about 155 and 233pft of torque

I had thought about converting the Camaro to run on E85 but... I don't have enough money to even think about the conversion.

Mister-Lou In reply to HotRod-302 [2009-03-18 05:12:01 +0000 UTC]
E85,well it's cleaner than Gasoline, renewable and it's octane reading is that of a race fuel.the downside of it is where to fill up the tank, the availability and the MPG is lower than the Gas engines in my opinion,i'm not telling you to keep the gasoline engine, infact i'm seriously considering Ethanol or Bio-Diesel as an alternative fuel or all out Electricity power!!!!Hell, they should make the hydrogen fuel cars as well

HotRod-302 In reply to Mister-Lou [2009-03-18 05:33:58 +0000 UTC]
Really the biggest issues is the ethenol is more corrossive than petrol. It tends to really eat at rubber, so for a lot of cars with plastic fuel tanks there is a risk it may not be E85 friendly. Mine is stainless which will hold up but the standard fuel line won't do, any rubber gaskets or O rings or diafragms will give out eventually. So the fuel pump will not only have to have a higher output but also internals that won't corrode. The carb will rebuilt with stainless float needles, larger squirters, and entirely new metering blocks because it takes 25/30% increase which the blocks I have won't flow enough. For now I'm going to stick with the 97 Octane. I still need to rejet. I am at a FAR higher altitude now, so I'm running so rich it's not funny.
