Description Wanted to draw something like this for awhile actually.
Day-um, I had to erase stuff on this so many times >.<;;
Well I'm pretty happy with how it came out...oh well
Anyway, I notice everyone always sympathizes with Lucas. Poor Lucas. Lucas lost his mommy. Lucas is so sad. Waaaah....Lucas. But come on, Flint doesn't get enough attention I think. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough but he's a pretty sad character himself.
So yeah, that's the scrap of Hinawa's dress he finds the night of her death and he's probably standing in front of her grave (the sunflowers and the cliffy thing should give it away if you know what the general area looks like) mourning her death. I'd imagine this is probably pretty shortly after she died or something. Anyway yeah, I hope you like it |D ; I ramble too much x.x;

He deserves so much more geeze.
He's one of my favorites.

It must though. I mean it's tough on Lucas cause he's a kid but for a parent I feel like it's much harder to lose a child and his wife on top of that. Also the way he found out about her death I mean just...damn.

BLAAAAtheny In reply to Mister-Saturn [2014-11-17 02:15:59 +0000 UTC]

yeah...

Not only that but it seems that he doesn't handle it quite as well as lucas does,
I remember talking to a certain npc (I forgot which one..) that said all that flint does anymore is pray at hinawa's grave and search for claus...

I also think that he'd be taking care of a pretty depressed child for a while too... and all the responsibilities of the family would be mostly dependent on him..

(I think flint needs a hug...)

Mister-Saturn In reply to BLAAAAtheny [2014-11-25 18:26:18 +0000 UTC]

No surprisingly enough.
He's the adult too.

Flint clearly loved his family more than anything though

BLAAAAtheny In reply to Mister-Saturn [2014-11-25 21:34:31 +0000 UTC]

Flint would go yo the ends of the earth (or end of the game lol) for his family if he needed to...

yeah, the game itself has an overall theme of family and all the characters represent it very well.

Lupus-in-Fabula-CH [2013-02-27 22:07:39 +0000 UTC]

I want to cry. You can feel all the grief that is felt in Flint. His loss of his beloved wife. Maybe he blames himself that he could not save his wife. Or whether, if he had not saved fuel, time would have been at Hinawa.

Big class. I like the picture really. These emotions. So much is unspoken in this picture.

Mister-Saturn In reply to Lupus-in-Fabula-CH [2013-03-21 22:44:04 +0000 UTC]

He's a very tragic character for sure. It's hard to imagine what's really going on in his head.

Thanks.

Shadow-and-Me-foreve [2011-03-04 08:02:23 +0000 UTC]

*Crys* Wow...I can just feel the emotion coming out of this picture! It's just...It just radiates out my screen and into my heart. That's how powerful the emotion is in this picture! Well Done!

Poor Flint....I feel so sorry for him.....He lost the love of his life AND one of his sons within the passing of a few days time.....That's just so much to take in.....And the way He had to hear the news about Hinawa.....Dang, Bronson wasn't being very tactful when he told him. I Mean, SERIOUSLY! That is NOT the way to tell a guy that his wife died! Saying that you got a fang as a good weapon for him and then saying that you found it in his wife's heart just isn't the way to tell a guy his wife was killed! It just isn't! Do you agree with me on that?

Mister-Saturn In reply to Shadow-and-Me-foreve [2011-03-04 16:18:10 +0000 UTC]

Wow, thanks o.o

Yeah, I felt the worst for Flint in a lot of ways. Worse for him than Lucas to a degree. Most would probably disagree with me on that but whatever. Plus Flint's reaction mixed with the game's genius soundtrack really helped bring out that sadness.
Well...in Bronson's defense, he was probably a bit panicked. I'm sure it wasn't supposed to come out that way. Of course, he probably should've composed himself a bit more before trying to say something.

ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-13 20:58:32 +0000 UTC]

Poor Flint. He has it just as rough as his son, if not worse. He's expected to be strong in tragedy, whereas Lucas is just given the "Oh he's young and a crybaby" pass. I loved playing as him in Chapter 1.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-14 17:42:06 +0000 UTC]

See? Exactly! I agree with your statement completely and that's why I tend to feel worse for Flint than Lucas.
Me too, chapter 1's one of my favorites for that reason.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-14 18:00:04 +0000 UTC]

I feel bad for them equally, but FLint definately has a rougher time recovering.

Chapter 1 is what got me hooked on this game- at first I was ticked off because I wanted to skip straight to using Lucas, but Flint was fun to use and the plot really drags you in.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-16 01:03:30 +0000 UTC]

That he does. Three freaking years later, he's still up in the mountains looking for Claus D|

Indeed indeed. They set up the game very well with the first three chapters. Then the real plot starts...actually I would say it truly starts at 7 but you know *shrug*
I wasn't a fan of chapter 2 though |D ;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-16 02:36:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, 7 is where the bulk of it is.

I used to hate Chapter 2, but now I love it. Chapter 4 however... uggh. And that volcano in Chapter 7, too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-17 22:12:39 +0000 UTC]

Indeed.

Yeah? I don't know, it's just kinda annoying. Backtracking all over the freaking castle the entire chapter gets a little old |D ;;
I don't mind chapter 4. It's kind of the start of the next part of the game seeing as it's 3 years later.
That volcano...pisses me off too. I always have to grind for so long there...and right before you fight the Masked Man at the end of chapter 7. I end up grinding for hours.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-18 00:30:05 +0000 UTC]

I understand. The backtracking is bland, though I thought the Happy Box delivering in Chapter 3 was more tedious. Why can't you run with those things, especially when you deliver one to Isaac in the Forest?

Chapter 4 for me is more the attic that bugs me, though even then I've kind of gotten over it now.

I hate the volcano! You have to go all the way through it to fight New Fassad, with no Save point or Hotspring before him... And then you have to go all the way back while beat up, not to mention the enemies are tough. I usually grind before the Masked Man fight anyway to get the Mystical Stick, but he's still pretty tough.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-21 17:15:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that was a pain but it only lasts for a short while. Chapter 3 was kind of interesting I thought though.
I'm assuming they're fairly heavy for a small monkey like Salsa. But damn is it annoying XD ;

Yeah that attic's the worst part XD ;
I enjoy the beginning of that chapter actually.

Oh man...it's such a pain. New Fassad himself isn't so bad when you're the proper level but still.
I tend to get to level 60 so I learn PK Ground. PK Ground demolishes the Masked Man, no problem.
By the time I'm done grinding I usually got a few Mystical Sticks |D ;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-21 18:56:12 +0000 UTC]

I only learned PK Ground on one playthrough. It is awesome, though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-21 19:01:08 +0000 UTC]

Really!?
What level were you when you fought the final boss?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-21 19:04:25 +0000 UTC]

The first time? Around 60. I had just learned PK Ground before Porky. I'd say 40-55 the other times.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-22 03:28:38 +0000 UTC]

How, how'd you survive XD ;?
I barely survived Porky at level 65. Last time I beat it I think I was around 75 or something.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-22 04:34:19 +0000 UTC]

Luck? Tactics? Mother 3 is one of the rare games where stats affect the fight... Also, did you play the original or the patch? I did the latter, but I've heard some people play the Japanese version.

Porky was kind of tough, but others were worse. Jealous Bass was a pain until I discovered a trick that gets you Hot Spring Eggs, and Master Eddy, the Barrier Trio, and Miracle Fassad still are a pain.

I'm doing the volcano again today. AAAAAAARGH.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-23 02:09:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, one of the only RPG's I use stat buffers all the time in.
I play the english patch. I wouldn't be able to play it if it wasn't in English |D ;

Eh, once I figured out a good tactic, Jealous Bass wasn't so bad.
There were only a few bosses that gave me issues. Barrier Trio was one.

Have fun XDD ;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-23 02:19:14 +0000 UTC]

Same here- I rarely use stat moves in other games, and I can't read Japanese.

I think the hardest boss for me is either Master Eddy, Barrier Trio, or Miracle Fassad/Yokuba.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-23 21:28:53 +0000 UTC]

Master Eddy gave me no trouble oddly enough : o
Everyone has trouble with Fassad XD ;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-23 23:17:50 +0000 UTC]

I fought the Barrier Trio today, and I think they have the new title of hardest. They made me use up all 3 mementos I had...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-27 02:29:53 +0000 UTC]

Wow : o
I hate it when a memento is used |D ;;
I tend to hold on to them the entire game and not allow them to be used.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-27 02:54:29 +0000 UTC]

I tend to save them for important battles, but have them on hand just in case.

Also, a Return of Octobot stole Salsa's Nut he gave Kumatora today. I always have her hold onto it for fun, and that ticked me off.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-27 03:12:20 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah? I just make sure there's someone left alive to use a secret herb. It's good enough for me *shrug*

Oh yeah? XD ;
I hate those things. I hate enemies that steal in any game though. They piss me right the hell off D|

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-27 03:34:10 +0000 UTC]

Secret Herbs work too, I'm just lazy. I never used Ionia's or Locria's on my first playthrough, though. Weird.

Same here, especially when it's hard-to-replace. I mean, at least it was just a Nut. That freaking thing also stole a super Bomb. THOSE COST A LOT. Grrr.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mister-Saturn In reply to ZeniTheWonder [2010-08-27 03:36:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's always made worse when they steal expensive things.
I recently beat the final boss on a file that apparently belonged to my brother. He didn't have the damn shield snatcher D|
You ever get that item? Best thing to have in the fight against Porky...or any boss with any kind of shield for that matter |D ;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZeniTheWonder In reply to Mister-Saturn [2010-08-27 14:33:16 +0000 UTC]

I got the Shield Snatcher on every playthrough but my first. It's heck without it, although on my first playthrough I was ridiculously overleveled so I had only a little trouble.

Flint emotionally breaks down and gets so overwhelmed with grief throughout most of the game. Yet in the end he grows stronger. He's such a great character |D

I haven't played Mother 3 yet (but I wanna D= ) and even though I haven't really seen any of the characters in action, Flint happens to be one of my favourite characters out of the entire cast. I feel bad for both him, and Lucas, and heck, everybody else in the family. I mean, I dunno if we get to see his reaction or not in the game, but imagine how Alec probably felt when he found out that his daughter died.

Yeah I was like that before I played too. I already loved many of the characters. Flint is pretty much the man |3. Oh yeah, you don't really get to see Alec's reaction to the news but you see him a bit later. Feel bad for him too |D ;
