I HAD to illustrate this scene. This was by far the saddest part of Mother 3. It was such a freaking moving scene >_<I got really choked up at that one like too (the one I wrote into the picture), I didn't cry though. I have to say though, I'm am thoroughly impressed. It was a VERY well done scene. Now for those of you who don't know what's going on and don't care about spoilers...:
SPOILER ALERT!!
It's at the end of the game and Lucas is fighting the Masked Man who is trying to pull the last needle sealing away the Dark Dragon (not getting into detail on that >.>
and the Masked Man is actually Claus! Oh noes 
! So you can hear their mother Hinawa's voice telling them to stop fighting and all this other stuff and it's very sad and finally Claus (who was actually dead and re-animated by Porky) remembers who he is. He delivers one final powerful lightning attack knowing that Lucas is wearing the Franklin Badge and it reflects back and deals mortal damage. So this is the scene where Claus is dying and saying goodbye and such...it was very moving T^TEND SPOILER ALERT!!
So yeah. I think I did okay on this. It was really difficult though, body contact is usually hard for me. Also it was just something I never really tried before so I really wanted to. Also the lighting, I think I did decent on that actually. All in all I think I'm pretty proud of this one =3

Pretty nice drawing, just Lucas' tears kinda look sticky. More like liquid glue or something. Especially in the remake by FJLink.

Yes, I cried at the scene ... I "hate" this scene, even though I know that it comes at the end.
And I always think that Claus has committed suicide. Because he could not live with the guilt.

Oh my god. I watched this whole game on youtube. I was so upset I didn't own the game. I cried SO MUCH through out the whole game. Lucas has so much truama that happens to him. *F**cking PORKY. >8C* I love your Mother 3 pictures, it got me interested in the game in the first place! ^^

It sucks it was never brought over here. They did such a great job on the fan translation though.
I certainly got choked up quite a bit myself. It's one of the most emotional games ever made.

Exactly but there is so much buildup to this part that it makes you feel so emotional like you're sad and conflicted at the same time at this point in the game then it gets even sadder when this happens. I tried to cry at the end but my eyes are pretty much dried up.

Very true. It really kinda is the culmination of all the sad, emotional parts of the game.
To be honest I didn't cry but that's mostly cause I don't cry as easily I guess at that stuff XD
Though I did get pretty choked up and emotional about it.

My favorite Final Fantasy game is actually FF8 because of the fact it's the first to have a decent love story since Celes and Locke which was also sad.

But still nonetheless Aerith's death may have been spoiled for me but when it took place was the mystery to it. Every Final Fantasy after 6 had it's unique sad moment.

Yeah it was very sad indeed. I'm assuming either he felt so terrible about all the things he did that he figured he should die...maybe it was because he knew he shouldn't be alive anyway or maybe he just wanted to be with his mom *shrug*

They need another Mother character too who's more...different. Lucas and Ness were too similar.

Well...similar sort of. I mean, they're movesets are different but like...specials and how they play are similar. Masked Man would be a very different character...or at least I would hope so.

You know, I never actually cried once in that game. Two parts almost got to me but that's it.
Not that I didn't feel sad, just never cried in it.
I feel bad for Lucas but in some ways I feel worse for Flint.
