Description
It's sitting outside a house I think but the river that's flowing by is made of both earth and water, all the stuff of the world really. The catlike creature just sits there and smiles at you as you paddle up. Will you please wave hello?1st Half of 2007

it's oil on an ampersand panel. i did several translucent layers, letting the paint dry in between. still working on the technique, it's totally different painting on a completely flat surface like the panels. still experimenting with painting on transparent plastic, that is even more difficult because the paint dries SOOOO slowly... like 3-6 months per layer!

it's almost a cheshire cat or something, i mean i guess those are orange and striped but they smile at you freakishly intelligently like this. cats do tend to have a pretty good sense of humor, i've had several that played tricks on people and stuff like that.

well there's this doglike alien that keeps appearing in my dreams. i thought it was a white dog a few times. then one time it was sitting on the stove in my kitchen, so it could talk to me face to face more or less. i said "you're not a dog are you?" and it was like "of course not, dogs can't talk". well i was thinking of this some when i did this painting too. the position is how the alien in my dreams usually seems to like to sit. it's more or less a ghostly white but that's not so fun to paint. i did a painting like that i didn't like so i know.

sounds interesting! human dreams is a great and very mysterious thing! maybe this creature from your dreams is real. who knows. Anyway sometimes I see so interesting images and creatures in my dreams. I think it very good for art!

Well when I was two years old I think it came and visited me in my living room. But who can trust the memories of a 2 year old child?

I think it have been a real case, usually children can see similar supernatural things, because have special visions

my white cat Spam was running around with a pink tail for a couple weeks, he likes to swish his tail around in my palette and paintings.

Aha, Spam is a creative cat. Cats are not ones to be left out of anything.
I used to have a white cat that could never get warm enough in the winter, so he used to lean against a bar heater or let his tail lay across the bars. It looked like I'd taken to him with a branding iron! It didn't smell too good either.
Great art, even with the cats help!
