She paused with curiosity at peered at the strange creature as it swam slowly by, amazed faces staring with wide eyes out of small circular holes in its side. She wondered for a moment if she should try to save the poor creatures trapped inside the belly of this strange beast.
The amazed people in the submarine peered back at the mermaid, their faces full of wonder and disbelief.

Gorgeous! Love how you did the scales, and her expression and pose are wonderful. The colors are awesome, too!
Though the arms seem a bit overly-long, even for being stylized to be fishy. But, eh, artistic license ftw.
