Description
Vhaeraun is the Drow god of drow males, thievery and trickery. So...here are two of his boys - one a fighter and the other a mage.I've been reading FAR too much Elaine Cunningham recently...
Didn't use any reference (me baaad), so there's bound to be loads of anatomy errors, and I haven't done a background...we'll see if I can bring myself to do that later! And yes, the fighter has nicked Kai's armour - oh well!

The only problem that is really a problem that i can see in the whole picture is tha the hands are a smidge too small, the rest of it... Well there is such a thing as personal style and as long as it's in the ball park no one really cares. I mean look at cartoons like Juniper Lee or Samurai Jack, both semi-serious action packed and made with only ball park proportions. Also there are serious cartoons (can't remember the names of them) that have simmilar styles.

Ah I see. I didn't notice the fighter's hips as something wrong, because I've seen guys with hips like that.

Oh-oh-oh! This is great! Damn, wasn't it just last night that you said you only had a sketch of these guys? IMPRESSIVE! I'm slow as hell with my drawings. Of course you know now, that this is going to cause nothing but bad for you... If I find out your working on another Drow pic, I'm going to whine and pitch little fits to make you work faster.
Okay, now I'm going to talk your ear off about your picture. First, the fighter... He KICKS ASS and is my favorite of the two. I absolutely LOVE all of his piercings. I have this weird "thing" for piercings, so all I can say is YAY!!! I like the "attitude" of his stance and all the straps and buckles on his clothing too. I also like the design of the loin cloth and how it's not all just one big flap, but broken up into 3 sections. Very cool. His belts and swords are also nicely done as is his loooooong hair.
Now for questions concerning the fighter. Are those tattoos on his chin? Wicked cool if they are... And *big grin* be that a lip piercings that is adorning his lower lip? It's a little hard to make out...but I hope that's what it is!
Okay, now for the mage. I don't usually like mage types (the way they dress at least) but this design is absolutely cool as hell. You've taken all the stereotypical things *I* usually don't like about the "mage look" and totally spiffified them! I like how he has a robe...yet he doesnβt have a robe, hehe. ...I just really like his costume design overall, I personally haven't seen anything like it before and I think it looks great. You also get extra credit for the nipple piercing on him! And...last question...were these guys done in pastels?
*catches breath* Okay, now...I think I might have to add this one to my favorites too, hehe. Keep this up and I'm going to have all your Drow over at my page, chilling with me.

So...yes, the fighter does have tattoos on his chin (and on his cheeks and forehead, but you can't really see those 'cos he's, well, got dark skin!) and he does have a lover lip piercing - but it is hard to see (mainly 'cos I added it in later!). I wanted him to have a cocky attitude - Vhaeraun gives the males back their confidence, so...
So...I inked them in first and then used a mixture of watercolour and normal coloured pencils. I was using a new paper type (and it didn't blister! Hooray!) so I'm getting used to the grain.

I know exactly what you mean. I draw mostly women too because I think they're easier. I'm trying to get better at drawing men, but yeah, it is hard to find reference pics. At least in women's mags (I always wondered why they are full of pics of women too).

I really like their faces and their costums.
