AVAILABLE - 11" x 14" acrylic on canvas of Galadriel from Lord of the Rings. She was sitting almost done for too long and so I decided to finish her up while I was waiting for my other painting to dry.Related content

Thank you! Yeah I have heard that I do pretty well with likeness and character as you said. I honestly don't know how I do it, but most of the portraits I attempt are characters I'm really involved with. Like I LOVE THEM on some level. xD During that Doctor Who painting, I watched Doctor Who religiously. Galadriel, I have just always loved, and so I think that attachment makes you want to go the extra mile to capture the characters you so love.

The colours work beautifully, but I'd personally like a bit more lighting, just to illuminate her face.

Yeah you're probably right, but I tend to leave paintings be once I've said I'm done! If I recall my reference picture was sort of dark, where one whole side was just about in the shadow and the other side was only slightly highlighted. Either way though, thanks for the comment!
