OMG.I just realized I gave Vegeta Ike-like clothes..... ?!?!
What the hell?!?!? There' a frickin' fundamental difference here!
Ike: I fight for my friends
Vegeta: I fight my friends!
.... Uh, as such, his clothes are really not something you'd see at court...
More like on a pirate ship, maybe...?Wait.

It's all making so much sense now. I'm a genius and didn't even realize it! ( )
Ah...anyway... It's been a while since I colored properly (ie this way) so it took way longer than I expected. Like, days and stuff!
I used a lot of textures for once. Like, spammed them basically. lol?By the way, I haven't forgotten my challenge, even if I have been ignoring it! I'll definitely get something done for that very very soon, even if it kills me! (...And it just might, for real...)
I might actually edit is a little later. Something about it is bothering me.
One more thing: My friend was telling me how he didn't even recognize Bulma here, so I told him that was probably because of my style (as in, her eyes or something). But that got me thinking, is that a bad thing?! That was part of the reason he didn't like it much (I am now sad, lol) after all. So please tell me... what do you think about interpretation of style (in general)?

Your Bulma doesn't look like Toriyama's Bulma but you'd be a bit hard pressed not to figure out it was Bulma. With the hair, and the dude sitting next to her...
Vegeta does look piratey. Piratey is good but I think his gloves should be white. 'Coz Vegeta's glove are always white. Nappa and Raditz had to those funky black fingerless armguard things. Vegeta had white gloves, so I always figured it was a status thing. At least in Veggie's head anyway.
It just goes to show how strong subliminal messaging can be. I was expecting blue.

But you.. you're too right. About the gloves, I mean. When I think Veggie, my first thought is always blue, but the gloves... It always annoyed me a little that he always wore frickin' gloves. Always!! Ever since I was a little girl...
I think I know why it didn't cross my mind. It's cause I toned the gloves a dark shade. Why I did that though...
But you know, now I'm curious! I think I'll edit this and see how it looks with while gloves! A version just for the purists.. XD

I believe that Vegeta's suit is only blue after the Android Saga. Before then it's black. But yeah, the gloves separate his princely self from the rabble.
He's just always in my head in black or blue but ALWAYS white gloves. It doesn't annoy me. It's part of his look. When he's got that pink (
There's probably more obsessive psychoanalysis we could do as to why he needs to have gloves on...
Likewise Goku should always wear orange. His GT gi with the blue and yellow just made no sense.

I always thought his suit was navy blue in the Namek saga, lol. But in the Saiyan saga he did wear bright blue under his armor! XD
And I agree with orange Goku. Orange or red, but not blue and yellow. D: I hated how he wore blue/purple in the beginning of DB, it was so un-Goku-like to me o.o Didn't that GT outfit get introduced at the very end of DBZ though? *tries to remember*

Hmmm, you may be right. When he goes off to train Uub is maybe when the blue/yellow thing is introduced. But it could have been laundry day, you never know.
There are colours just imprinted in my head. Goku = orange/red. Vegeta = black/blue. Piccolo = green and purple. Trunks = purple and blue etc etc in a really obvious way.

hmm... ya i think it would make it look more like her but its totally up to you. i like drawing characters in my own style too, it's wut makes them unique. like your bulma, she looks "sexier" with the eyes she has now XD definately a good thing for vegeta lol

lol ya everybody has their own opinions. but what i don't like is when my friends who don't draw at all point out different flaws in my drawings like im stupid or sumthin

Yeah, that can be pretty annoying! How do you explain a stylistic choice, and what really is a flaw? It's really hard to get these things accross.
But on the other hand, they can give really good criticism because they don't see it the same way as you do. Their vision isn't clouded by things like proportions and colors and techniques, so they can point out things you'd never have looked for.
Basically I both hate and love their input. lol. XDD And that's why my non-artists' friend opinion made me think about this stuff...

You are a genius! Because Vegeta IS a pirate. (Hello? Cross Epoch??) And you also know like bajillion languages so yeah...
There is nothing wrong with your style! I like fanarts that have their own style way more than drawings that look like they've been drawn by the real authors. (Or at least they tried to and FAILED.) Your drawings are great! They are fine the way they are

Sometimes his characters look like they're on crack. Oh yeah, that's same with One Piece. I can't stand looking at the characters. They're eyes are SO HUGE and they all look like crackheads!
