Cool. The summer round started! Hope it's just as fun as the first one I was in.

Uhhhh....I swear I'm more enthusiastic about it than what I'm actually typing, I'm just blanking on things to say...*cough*

SO Here's My guess who for Xanth! Have fun.

Reveal:
So I guess to start I really wanted to go and answer all your guys’s guesses specifically throughout the week but, time and physical pain and yes. Things just didn’t happen.

I’ll start by clearing up a few things a lot of you guessed on. Some of which weren’t too far off.

The necklace he’s wearing is just a family heirloom from his dad’s side.

The gem is actually the end of his weapon. The weapon being a rapier, which turns into a lance, which turns into a musket rifle. He can channel dust or his own lightning powers through this weapon.

I wouldn’t flat out call him a mage as his power isn’t based off of dust or magic. It’s pure lightning. His role in team XNON is being the leader but also being the controller. So in that sense, he stuns and buffs enemies, like a mage support in RPGs, but he can still do his own colossal amount of damage with no support or team mates necessary.

Xanth’s ability was awoken or rather, granted as a child when he was outside by himself one day and got struck by lightning. And lived. I honestly didn’t know what lightning powers could do past speed so I did some superhero and villain research on people who had lightning powers and what it did to them. The abilities I’m kinda juggling so far are light-speed, thinking faster than others, maybe fast enough to make full predictions, and the sheer force of lightning. Strong enough to start fires and cause nation wide black outs and if uncontrolled, one-shot kill regardless of attack type. His limit being that he can’t hit you with a voltage that was higher than what he got struck by as a child. Supposedly…

Xanth’s Personality. Kinda funny thing here actually. The original sketchy sketch that I put up of him however long ago was his initial personality type. Haughty, arrogant, flamboyant, and chicken shit. Yet the leader of the team. Looking back at it…it didn’t hold as much appeal as I imagined it would in my head.

So I scrapped that personality type and made him a pleasant, flirtatious (but not a fuck boy), slightly sadistic, focused, confident but not cocky, gentleman character. The best way to describe his confidence level is #humblebrag . So he’d say things like, “Wow! You’re the strongest opponent I’ve ever defeated.” Or “I understand that we’re both very busy people, so I’ll be sure to end this quickly.” Just ever so slightly condescending. He also has the anime trope of the one guy who is never seen with his eyes open. That exception being he’s pissed, or shit is about to hit the fan. Or when he’s stressed. Which is quite often.

Xanth is the heir to a famous and prestigious huntsman family of his time. Every man before him carried a very perfect and successful image about them. Being heroes, military officers, or something else highly important in society. Growing up, he was basically bashed and drilled on how to be the perfect man, perfect hunter and perfect leader from his father and grandfather. Although none of this was hard for him to learn or adjust to, he is under a constant amount of stress. The possibility of failing and being the first one in his family’s history to fuck up. So he hides all of his stress and anxiety under a pleasant smile.

The more ironed out version of his weapon, his stats, and how his semblance works will prolly be in the next challenge part.
