Description
This was done for the DA member JAGUARO, who is working on a Scooby Doo fan comic book. The story is set during WWII, in Africa, and involves stolen documents, a living mummy, and plenty of Red Herrings. Several DA artists have contributed to this project and I was lucky enough to be asked to draw the cover. It still needs typography, which will be added digitally. It's drawn with Verithin Dark Brown colored pencil on Canson tinted art paper. The colors are digital and dropped in transparently so the paper texture comes through, to give the art a feeling of being old and done on parchment or papyrus.MJB

That was certainly no accident. The finished cover used a RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK inspired typeface to bash folks over the head with the connection even more.

Did a great job on the colors and the aging. I've always been a fan of SD and doing it in this style is like a PB&J - two great things that go great together! Or is that Reese's!?

Well, the idea was someone else's. But he can't draw, so we collaberated. This pic gets so many hits and nice comments. There are a lot of folks out there who love Velma and like seeing her get one up on Princess Daphne for once.
