Description During Michigan winters, bald eagles are seen throughout the state (almost all counties), while they nest mainly in the Upper Peninsula (especially the western portion) and the northern portion of the Lower Peninsula. These eagles don't really migrate, they just move south enough to stay ahead of the ice and congregate near open water. Immature birds may move further south.

Third or fourth year eagle. Fantastic. Most artists gloss over these ones because they don't know about 'em.

I like the white background a lot, not only it makes the eagle stand out very well but it's not the normal color you see in eagle photos. The composition is very good too, though I'd have placed the eagle closer to the bottom of the photo.
