im applyin to college in canada and i have to make a portfolio project thing with a "community" theme but idk how because im just a lame animu artist.
so ive just been playing and drawing pokemans instead

oh I see, hahaha no worries you'll adapt to other styles soon. I found that drawing from real life helps a lot even when drawing anime.

Im trying to go study illustration at Emily Carr, that's my first option,
but im also applying to SVA and other stuff just in case.
the problem with the project is that community is such a broad theme and idk how to approach it and JUST CANT COME UP WITH ANYTHING ARGHhh

hmm I see, that's true, but what I'm guessing is that they want you to come up with an interpretation for it so try to think about things that make you think of a community. Maybe its people helping each other or houses clustered together, things that make you think about a community.
I'm not sure if this is how it works at Emily Carr, but at least where I came whenever they gave broad topics they wanted to see our interpretation of it and what it means to us. It doesn't have to be super specific as long as you can explain why it relates i guess.
but yeah! dont stress over it, it shall come to you!
