Description Also affectionately known as "Dances with Bees".
That's right. The bees are glowing neon blue. I would like to thank Sarah Ash for the short story "Merveille", the inspiration for all this glowing insanity!

I spent much more time on this than I logically should have, and even so there are some things about it I'm not thrilled with...@.@ We'll see how its received though, hm?

The Full-view is tasty.

Moments like this I curse my disability to write clever comments. It's just that I love it so much, it takes my breath away. I could have it hung in my room and stare at it everyday. You've really got some serious skills, and you know how to use them Thank you for this work!

Holy craaaaap! Look at that movement! Seriously, it's blowing me away. *whooosh*

And jeez, those bees are well done. And the blueness is fabulous, I must say.

Phalo blue is awesome! I bought a tube of it just to use on this painting. I don't know when I'll ever use it again (its not exactly a color that you can mix with others) but it was fun to use indeed! It glows!

Aw, I'm sure you'll find some random place to use it! If anything needs any glowing.

0_o... there's nothing womanly about him. Graceful, yes... but, but.. People actually mistake him for a woman???

This reminds me of the time I showed my artwork to someone and he was like "hey, cool tarzan women". and the guy in the artwork was sort of shirtless, with a definite lack of man boobs -_-. I was kinda scarred for life. I came to the conclusion that a 'beautiful' (not handsome) man will definitely be mistaken for a woman -_-!

I came to the conclusion that the "it looks like a woman even though it clearly is lacking the proper anatomy to be a woman" thing is a defense mechanism for some who grow uncomfortable with seeing a good-looking man. I estimate that this discomfort springs from an unwilling attraction to said good-looking man, and the only way they can thwart it is by claiming that their attraction derives from the fact that "It look like a woman!"

Exactly! Well said!

Anything that makes a guy look more attractive (long hair, makeup) is instantly labeled as effeminate. People with such ideas should be introduced to death metal bands. they'll never look at long hair and make-up in the same way again XD!

Fer serious. >.< Long live Metal!

And guys were wearing their hair long and layering on the make-up for centuries in all sorts of ancient cultures, and these were the sort of over-butch dudes men idolize today, yet the modern man forgets these masculine idols wore dresses and had flowing hair and occassionally snogged other men >.<

I like to think metal musicians are sort of like contemporary version of those shaman type figures you mentioned. Lyrically most bands do love primeval sounding stuff (storms, fire, stars, chaos, destruction, dreams… and black milk??) and almost every band I know just have to have a song/album on mother earth! (I have to make a playlist someday!). And then they are trance inducing too, call it headbanging, rhythmic spazzing or whatever XD

That is something I am not brave enough to do: warm and cold as light and shadow. Kudos. You totally pulled it off and gave it sublime movement to boot.

Also, glowing blue bees FTW!

I like their translucent wings. :3

The bees are pretty much the only thing I like about this painting anymore...(sniffle) I'm glad they make your spirit soar!

Also, they're the reason why the mantra for my Narrative painting class (which this was done for) is now "Needs more bees!"
