We have to many hellhounds/black dogs running around these here parts. I think hell just tired of all its hounds and dumped them in our wilderness.
Personally i have always used the term Barguest or Padfoot.

Well, I survived! But that may have been because my group canceled on me, and I didn't actually go outside other than to visit my neighbor.
But I guess that's for the best, because this was a downright deluge. I haven't seen that much rain all year!
Ha but yes, another year safe from the demons of Halloween. (I bet he can swim, he looks pretty strong) (and if Sirius Black can swim from Azkaban, I think Black Shuck can swim to America)
