Inktober the next next next.It seems to be developing into a theme that I do something 'Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell'-based for Inktober. 3rd year running.
I rather wanted to improve on a previous drawing of this particular character.
The Gentleman with the Thistledown Hair from the aforementioned novel by Susanna Clarke. My favourite ever book, as I keep pointing out.

This is awesome! One of my favorite depictions of thistledown dude. The book's illustrations were a little bit bland (IMO - not that they were *bad* illustrations), and the BBC miniseries version, though amazing, was different and much more overtly sinister than the book. Your picture goes between the two and fits him better than either, I think.
Love all the crosshatching too.
