Byyst ( Baest) or Beast lol
The second most common race in the world of Yoryyntel, Byyst are a bipedal race with animal attributes. Depending on the animal they take after, their strengths, weaknesses, and skills vary. Common characteristics include darker or colorful pigmentation, digitigrate feet/legs, and other characteristics not found in humans.

Though their animal-derived traits can be beneficial, there are also setbacks and other negative influences. For example, Byyst with rain-forest animal heritage can only dwell in rainforests or other humid, green ecosystems; any other climate is detrimental to their health, though as technology progresses, more and more ways of surviving in alien environments have risen.
Some species may have a hard time controlling instinctual behavior, such as rutting for deer, or migration for certain species of birds; animal heritage may also manifest itself in areas such as food preference, circadian rhythm, and general lifestyle.

The race is locally known as the demi-gods, though the term has been used jokingly in recent times - this comes from the observation that many of the spirits of the world resemble Byyst in appearance.

Design Notes
> Pure Byyst always have digitigrade feet, markings, and other traits of the animal they take after. (they are not “kemonomimi”)
> All Byyst MUST be based on existing animals.(No unicorns, dragons, or extinct animals - Recently extinct animals such as the Thylacine, Japanese Wolf, etc. are acceptable, however. )
> Remember to keep in mind the climate of the village/city you are wanting to apply to, along with the environment your animal of choice is usually found in. Please use your common sense and a bit of research to determine wheter or not an animal species is adequate for a certain local’s climate.
