Past/Bio
Pre-Series
Silas was born premature to Bian Tran and Walter Mayhew. Life was an uphill battle from the get-go for him in the house with a strict criminal defense lawyer obsessed with his image, an up and coming actress who was too afraid to leave and a half brother, Vince, who resented his younger brother. However, these dynamics began to change after the emergence of Batman when Bian began to take on the role of a superhero, Phasmo.
At 5 years old Silas took a mysterious fall, leading to him not only being held back a year in school but his powers emerging. Knowing from her own experience that powers came from trauma snapped Bian into action to start leaving Walter, no matter the cost. While they worked on leaving, Bian taught Silas to suppress his powers to hide them from his father who was vocally against heroes and ‘powered-freaks’.
When he was 7, Silas’ parents divorced and thus began the lengthy custody battle and the struggle for Silas to please both parents, and his relationship with Vince worsened. However, this step towards freedom allowed Silas the chance to finally learn how to use his powers and fight to defend himself by Bian herself, which sparked Silas’ desire to become a hero.
At 11 years old, Silas befriended a new student in their 4th grade class, Dick Grayson (9 years old) after being paired up for a history assignment, soon becoming best friends. This friendship helped Silas to open up more since he previously felt out of place being a year older than most kids, yet was one of the smaller classmates. When Silas was 12, Bian decided to let Silas begin to try the superhero lifestyle as her sidekick, partly inspired by Batman having Robin.
While things were going well with his mother, things with his father were awful. Silas was having to hide how he was treated by his father and brother. This was in part because he wanted to come off as strong, but in reality it was mostly due to the fact that Vince was using his own metapower of mind control on Silas to stop him from speaking up. In addition, by the age of 14 Silas began to suspect he was gay, but refused to accept it due to his own internalized homophobia.
Silas’ life took a sharp turn though when in late May of 2010, his mother died after her car was T-Boned, with the incident listed as a hit and run at the time. Silas was devastated and couldn’t help but feel it was suspicious but had other problems to deal with as he had to move back into his father’s house and deal with his brother’s watchful eye waiting for him to mess up. During this time, he hung up the Ghost mantle until he felt safe sneaking out.
This devastated Silas. For everyone else, her death was an unfortunate accident but for Silas, it felt off. Silas didn’t want to live with his father full-time and in his grief even tried running away before being dragged back to his father. Silas felt like he was alone. While in his father’s home, Silas had to deal with Vince routinely using his powers to ensure he stayed in line until Vince felt confident that Silas wouldn’t disobey.
Season 1
After the notable absence, Robin began to question Batman about Phasma and Ghost missing, however without a solid answer from him, Robin resorted to spam messaging a comm he had given Ghost previously.
In early August, Ghost began to sneak out once more to do hero work and was surprised when Robin sent him coordinates to help fight a robot- later finding out it was Amazo. Ghost eagerly followed the coordinates and helps Superboy fight Amazo until the rest of the Team arrives. Afterwards, he’s chastised about ghosting them and encouraged to join the Team. It isn’t until Ghost runs into Batman though that he takes the offer to join the Team, creating a lie on why Phasma is not around rather than reveal her death.
Ghost is a spotty member of the Team at first due to his inability to get out safely, but bonds with his other teammates. He is suspected to be the mole during the blackmail arc, but clears that by revealing he has a strict father and that Phasma had actually died, making it harder.
During this year, Silas finally found a tenuous truce with Vince as he gave up on trying to get help from external sources, which failed because Vince would make them forget. This gave him a bit more freedom once more, even being able to attend Dick’s birthday party, playing Spin the Bottle and having to kiss Artemis at one point, confirming to him that Silas was gay due to his reaction to the kiss.

About Them
Personality (include positive and negative traits):
Linguistically intelligent | Kind | Level Headed | Anxious | Self-Conscious | Soft Spoken | Physically affectionate | Chatterbox on messenger | Dad jokes and memes | Protective | Secretive | Neurotic | Picky
Silas is an introvert that is good at pretending to be an extrovert whenever needed. He cares deeply for his friends, but gets drained from being in large groups for extended periods of time. He hates being in the spotlights and in his day to day life finds just backing down is the best solution towards preventing a further issue. It takes a lot for the boy to open up and trust someone- even though he wants to. He's quite intelligent, especially with history, English and other languages.
With his friends, Silas tries to be the voice of reason, listening to problems and offering the most logical solutions that he can if he thinks they need it. And to those he is closest to, he is very physically affectionate when he feels safe. He wants to stop all their conflicts and tries to help them the best he can, which he knows is from his habit of trying to fix his parents' lives through their marriage. When making friends, he is not the one to introduce himself, and usually lets someone else take the lead even if he is very interested. Silas needs to know they are happy with him and will do whatever he can to fix it and is consciously aware of his image through everyone's eyes. He keeps his problems to himself, trying to keep everything positive and focus off of him. However, those closest to him are also able to see through him easily, knowing his tells and the mask he puts on to be fine when he's quite anxious. His largest tells being the compulsion to dress more formally and neglect eating/eat less which Dick will call him out before making him eat at least something in front of him.
At the age of 14/15, he is greatly self conscious about how short he is since he doesn't take strongly enough after either parent to feel comfortable. He also doubts his place in the Team since he can't use his powers much for others yet and using both simultaneously drains him quickly. This however, becomes less of an issue as he grows up and grows confident with himself- in part due to his growth spurt, and freedom to express himself with his hair and tattoos.
Silas knows he is not the best choice for a leader, since he lacks the decisiveness and confidence but will do whatever he needs to so that he can support who he deems to be a good leader. As he gets older, he becomes a group support/confidant and translator.
He is quite calm and passive most times, but there are a few times where he will become fiercely protective and fight on behalf of those people due to his loyalty. He found that using a loud voice is not his style, but rather a powerful one void of emotions and straight to the point. If you anger him in this way, he will speak his mind about why you are in the wrong while also pointing out your own flaws.

Hobbies:
Translating/Learning Languages
Silas was raised with his mother initially speaking Vietnamese to him and then later English, so he is fully bilingual in both. At school, he learned Spanish to which he is mostly fluent and in his free time was learning Korean being moderately fluent. His goal is to learn as many languages as he can and is currently learning Atlantean, and Arabic. He loves learning the rules of languages. From this, he challenges himself to translate documents to see how the direct translations differ from translating knowing the nuances of the languages.
History
He has and will spend full days at the different museums around the world, trying to learn about obscure history facts and has a mild fascination with the history of metahumans and the supernatural throughout the years. Silas cares more about people and their history rather than the wars that occurred. He has definitely attended museum exhibits on the history of pottery.
Playing Video Games
Silas first bonded with Dick over a video game and it became a sort of comfort for him to play them with Dick when he is stressed. As an adult, he own multiple systems with games similar to Mario or Legend of Zelda that he can relax with. He will play games for hours with Tyler (SpiretDoom ) or Dick now.
Fears:
Father
Although he knows his father is just a man, Silas knows the power he has as a rich man with connections and lives in fear under him. In the cases where he knows he is doing something that will displease his father, he is likely to start having major anxiety, if not an anxiety attack. Even after his father is arrested, he still feels this anxiety when his father is brought up.
Trypanophobia
Although logically Silas knows that someone isn't going to find out he's a metahuman when he gets his flu shots, and that needles are less scary than being shot at; he cannot actually keep that in mind. Whenever he needs a shot, Silas is tense and it is very difficult to get a vein from him. He has to try very hard to not simply hide from them.
Loud Noises
Surprising noises and people raising their voices at Silas immediately trigger his flight reflex and he goes into instant panic mode but usually can calm himself down quickly. He has worked on this reactive nature over the years but still falls victim to it from time to time.
Mice
They're tiny and everywhere. He's afraid of them biting him or secretly being an alien race spying on people after a strange dream when he was sick with the flu.
Mind Control
Since his brother's own meta-human skill is mind control and was used on Silas, he now cannot think of the idea of mind control or hypnosis without doubting his entire motives for everything.

Relationships
Father: Walter Michael Mayhew 4th
- Silas has a very poor relationship with his father. In the eyes of Walter, Silas is a mistake and a failure in life. He considers his son weak and a disgrace and does everything in his power to try and push Silas into being better. This mainly is by yelling at Silas, keeping him on a tight leash, constantly monitoring and occasionally getting physically violent with Silas to ensure his son will do as asked. As Silas gets older, he stands up to his father more and by Season 2 he is out of his father's custody and no longer in communication with him while Walter is in prison.
Mother: Bian Tran (deceased)
- Silas was a mother's boy through and through. He considered his mother his first best friend since the pair bonded over having superpowers and the Vietnamese cuisine. Bian was a bit spacey so Silas became her rock through the divorce and in turn, she was trying to get him to cut loose and be a child. When he misses her, he watches her movies to hear her voice and see her smile once more.
Siblings: Vincent 'Vince': Michael Mayhew V
- The two act like they hate each other, and to an extent they do, but when things get tough they'll help each other. Vince was jealous of Silas' different personality and how Silas had less pressure on him as the second son so he would use Silas as his own punching bag and toy to practice his powers on. When their father is around, these two have a toxic relationship, basically forced to compete against one another. When Walter is gone, the two find neutral ground where neither will use their powers and can get business done. Vince will never admit it but he does care for Silas and has prevented their father from hurting Silas more.
As of Season 2, when Silas saves Vince, they go through therapy and start rebuilding their relationship and by Season 3 are on good terms (but Silas still uses special contacts as a protective measure due to anxiety to prevent Vince from activating his ability using eye contact)

Hero Information
Code Name: Ghost
Place of Origin: Gotham City
Residence: New Venice, Florida (2017)
Affiliations: The Team, Justice League
Powers and Abilities:
Phasing
- Silas is able to walk through objects and make parts of objects intangible. As he works on this skill, he eventually will be able to have another person with him for this but it drains him significantly.
Invisibility
- Silas can turn himself invisible so that he is not visible by the naked eye or on most spectrums. In cases of cold rooms, he will be detectable by his heat signature and specialized technology seeing ultra violet. This power is the harder of the two for him and needs to give great focus to turn anything else invisible and requires far more practice.
Languages
- Due to his love of languages, Silas can fluently speak four which makes it easier for him to get information and figure things out since there is a higher chance he'll know what someone is saying, such as with Bane. This also helps since people underestimate him and may sometimes speak near him thinking he won't understand.
Weapons: Grappling gun, Wire (for capture/ detainment), pocket knife, flashlight.
Year/Time of Joining Team: 2010
Year/Time of Leaving Team: N/A (Loosely still a part of the team)
Weaknesses:
Extreme Temperatures:
- Due to the change in particle vibrations, Silas cannot phase through things that are too cold or if he is put into a very cold environment of -20C or lower. Although he can, with great effort, go invisible, unless he can hide his breath, Silas is easily spotted in the cold. This is similar with temperatures over 35C that he has difficulty phasing due to the particles moving faster than he’s used to.
Loud Noises:
- Although he tries to not let his fear get him, sometimes he cannot control his powers as well when startled and may give himself away when scared.
Limited Range:
- While he is still learning his powers, there are times where Silas cannot get them to work or to help others leaving the team in risky situations. This requires more practice to expand his powers but also requires a lot of time. Additionally, his power requires his touch to do so.
Human Weakness/Injury:
- Although metahuman, he is still vulnerable to many things a human would be, including a bullet if he were not notice in time. He may be used to pain but he still gets broken bones and bruises for the same reasons as a non metahuman.
