I've been seeing a lot of fear mongering all over the Internet about the latest strain of the coronavirus, the 2019-nCoV, which many are calling the Wuhan coronavirus. With the World Health Organization declaring this outbreak to be an international public health emergency I'd like to dispel these rumors and tell about the facts of this disease. [1]
First of all, contrary to earlier reports new research has suggested that the Wuhan food markets are not the origin of the 2019-nCoV. [2] The origins of the virus are completely unknown, besides for the fact that the first case originated likely in November of 2019 and likely was transferred from some animal to a single human, before then spreading to other humans.
Secondly, the 2019-nCoV is not some super deadly extinction level plague. The morality rate for this strain of the coronavirus is much lower than that of previous strains of the coronavirus. While the 2019-nCoV, or Wuhan virus has a morality rate of only 3% thus far the morality rate for the SARS coronavirus was 9.5% and for MERS-CoV it was 34.5%. [3][4] A mortality rate of 3% is not the lowest in the world, however since it is still much lower than other strains of the coronavirus and nearly all the deaths thus far have been from senior citizens who already suffered other health complications, showing the virus is too weak to kill healthy adult human beings. In addition, while the coronavirus has thus far killed only 170 people, all in China, common flu strains have already killed over 8000 Americans this flu season. [4][5] So unless you live in China itself you should be much more worried about the common flu than the Wuhan coronavirus.
Thirdly, for all its faults the Chinese government has done an amazing job containing the coronavirus. Already construction is well under way for two brand new hospitals in Wuhan to help ensure that the city has enough capacity to treat everyone as effectively as possible. [7] In addition many Chinese companies have donated over $432 million dollars to aided the central government in their response to the crisis. [8] The World Health Organization itself has praised the Chinese government for its quick and decisive response thus far to the 2019-nCoV and its openness in sharing all the medical data it has collected thus far about the virus with the global community to allow for coordinated teams to discover a cure as soon as possible. [9] This is not to say that the Chinese healthcare system is the greatest in the world, ever since Deng Xiaoping came to power China has been a state capitalist country which has privatized healthcare in the vein of the United States of America, and Xi Jinping has shown his state capitalist ways by not having implemented free universal healthcare already. [10]
In conclusion, this coronavirus is not nearly as deadly as the Western press would have you believe. A lot of stories about the coronavirus are straight lies manufactured by white supremacists and right wing corporations to fear monger against the evils of "communist" China and Asian people in general. [11] It is important to remember that most of the mainstream news is based on fear mongering and click bait yellow journalism so you should always be skeptical when the mainstream news warns about some "dangerous" new disease. [12] Going forward I am positive that this new strain of the coronavirus will be dealt with as quickly or quicker than other strains were by the Chinese government and international health community and I hope that all those afflicted with the virus get well soon.

As bad as corona can be, they should stop exaggerating it. Many people have spread fake news claiming that this is the worst pandemic in history and that it will decimate humankind.
Guys, this pandemic is bad I know but it's not the end. Humanity has overcome much worse pandemics in the past and we can overcome Covid 19 too. It may take a few months but someday, everything will return to normal.

Fear is causing more damage than the coronavirus itself. The stock market just had the biggest crash since the one that happened in the 1980s because of the unneeded overpanicked people who canceled everything that has to do with public meeting because they focus on the very low amount of deaths rather than the amount of people recovering from it. 2020, the year were we flipped out about a slightly upgraded flu.

If you got the media saying: "So what we have here is an atmosphere of fear and insecurity" - well, what else should we feel than fear and insecurity. It's so nice the media are telling us what we should be afraid of XD Oh dear Lord. Common sense is on the decline.
Influenza kills more people, every year, but we tend to forget that. Corona is like the joke of the day, compared to that. It just shows me about the power media has today and how people are blindly trusting it. No movie, no documentation and no appeals will ever help make people use their own minds again.
Imagine the bubonic plague would have a comeback - people would die of fear already if they already freak at some fever and coughing.

Okay sure, believe whatever you want to believe. Meanwhile in Western countries like the UK entire companies such as Flybe have gone bankrupt due to coronavirus and in countries such as Italy 90 people died just within the last 48 hours alone. So in many ways it is actually European countries who are being harder hit by this virus than China. And it is also worth noting that America currently has a 7% death rate recorded from the coronavirus , far higher than that of China or the worldwide average, though the fact that American healthcare is so horrible and Trump's CDC is so incompetent is also contributing to that high death toll with people being undersampled.
But overall only 3,000 have died from coronavirus worldwide, meanwhile the flu kills half a million every year and also the death rate for coronavirus patients under the age of 50 is less than 0.5% so unless you are a senior citizen then there isn't much to worry about and this virus is clearly not the black death v2.

It is not surprising that people are using this virus to be racist assholes. Plus is it not a little bit suspicious that Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, owns the patent for the virus? If he were to "accidentally" release it, he could come up with an antidote and get a bunch of money for it
