Have you even looked at Armstrong's logo? Unless you've built or renovated a house, you probably haven't. It's like the most boring thing ever, just some text with a circle around the A. That doesn't relate to your company at all, silly.So, I redesigned Armstrong's logo and identity package this time (I don't know what the letterhead or anything looked like before). Armstrong is a company that deals with materials, most notably beautiful hardwoods and tile. The turtle logo relates "home", and the shell is a pattern that relates directly back to, you guessed it, wood!
Ah, the text in the picture is made up though, I don't know how to reach their CEO XD This is also for my portfolio. Thought I'd share~~

You're definitely right about sea turtles vs. land turtles, I'm not sure how that thought gap happened (I may have been trying to avoid the roadkill look, or the shell pattern didn't exist on land turtles? I'm afraid I don't remember!). You still caught all the qualities I was trying to portray with the image, so I'm glad you were able to bridge the gap with little trouble!

Very nice design here. Good harmony between the pieces and the ID in general is well done and fitting. Corporate ID is one of my favorite things in GD, actually X3
Only a couple of things I see irk me. One is the centered placement of the turtle on the business card. Dunno why, but it doesn't seem to fit there. Maybe it's 'cause it's in the corner on the other two? The other is the return address on the envelope. It could do with being closer to the turtle, I think.
One of my instructors uses the term 'kit of parts' to refer to all the pieces of an identity package (like logo, font, graphical elements, etc.). Remember that spacing and placement are part of that :3
Otherwise it's fantastic. The colors are lovely.

Not a lot of people care for graphic design here XD I guess I wouldn't so much though.
I had a really hard time with this identity, actually, and in the end just had to set it down because I had other projects. You're right about the business card and the envelope spacing-wise, I seem to have gotten a bit sidetracked there XD I honestly don't remember what I was thinking when I made some decisions. I know I needed the address away from the turtle for some silly reason, like a machine-feeder or who knows what (it was sort of a weird project).
In the end, I'm glad you could like it though XD It is indeed Rockwell. I liked the slab-serif arms. Thank you for taking the time to comment c': <3

Yeah, I'd imagine most on here haven't been educated on GD. Really the only way anyone can know enough about it to care is if they're studying it in college (or certain high schools). Otherwise it's just 'oh that's nice' and such. Actually I'm moving to change my major. After a couple years I realized that while I do love design, it's not really my calling. Quite nice to learn as much as I have about it, though.

very good work, i would definetly try and reach them and make a proposal
well thought out and the graphic work is very well done
however on the stationery i think you should try something else to use in the corner as i find that the wood pattern doesn't match the style of the logo even though it's visible and a big part of it

Thank you very much! It was difficult to choose what to put there, but at the time I really wanted to echo the paneling of the floor. It looked too large and static being symmetrical. The typeface Rockwell is geometric slabserif, I think it's called. XD sorry for the late reply!

I really love the back of the of the business card with the wood panneling decoration as well as how it carries through to the envelope and paper. Its very upbeat with the warmer tones and really pirks things up a lot more.
As said before you're SO doing my package when I finally get my art buiz up and running.

i recognize dat turtle. look at you you little recycler you! seeing as how this is an existing company however, you may want to find Armstrong's corporate address and use that instead. Unless they are on Mizzell. but have you seen Mizzell? i find this unlikely.

On Mizell, like it's another planet XD Luciana saw the turtle and I was like "this was for---" "WOOD FLOORING LOOK IT UP 8DDDDD" "okayokayokay" so I spiffed the hell out of it.
Yeaaaaah too lazy to look up the address, but I certainly would change it if I were presenting it to them. Have not been to Mizzel, cannot afford spaceships!

Impressive work, especially on the logo redesign. Not too sure about the asymmetry of the corner embellishments on the memo and envelope, but the colors make it work fairly well.
