Description Far too long the fires of what makes a man have been quenched by the mere act of living. I know what is inside me. What is inside you?

yes maam, i have had many gallery exhibits. i dont like to say as not to boast or be a bragging man. i am blessed with the love and desire to create. then the skills developed and i put them in my focus. many like the diversity and unique styles. it is very hard to go to my gallery openings because i get so many questions. what why how when...i make. i find you lilking of my work more powerful to me than those at my openings. they seem fake and compliment out of courtesy. that is not you. and i truly value that.

again your words leave me mithout reply enough to tell you what that means to me inside. i find it odd how people will pay to have something that evokes thier emotion without going through an event or a situation in their lives to feel it. i thinkit is a matter of safety. thier own safety. they can see the risk from a distance and never dirty thier hands. i dont like them buying my work, but at the shows i have so little to say in it all. it would be like wanting the warmth of a fire and taking a photo of it and trying to warm thier hands. it never reaches thier soul

No, they don't feel the same way you felt, but I'm sure your work will(does) make them thinking, and perhaps feel something too...it's important and you are the one who give to the people a reason to think.

this is beautiful.... i love it. as a fellow traditional artist i can say that there is nothing like a good piece of art thats done in the traditional way useing the most basic materials .... its not what you use its how you use it.. the love and dedication you have for art will show in the work you do.

i would disgrace my grandfather if i were anything but what he expected as a man. i thank you so much for the compliment. as a woman i would expect that all treat you as a lady. if not, i would find others to be with. you have only this life. and if they are men, they should be men.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mountaintrout In reply to Ravissement [2008-08-13 20:27:45 +0000 UTC]

it is done with crayon on smooth canvas panel. later i painted it large 36 by 48 in oils. thank you kindly for your compliment. oh ya, i do it in crayon because i teach k-12 art and i want them to know that quality work does not com from the materials, but rather through time effort and practice.

Yes, you seem completely interesting nevertheless, art or not. But if you are a teacher, then I should like for you to know that I am a student, in high school, but I participate in a rigorous art school and I would love some evaluation or critique on my work, though very little is posted.

mountaintrout In reply to Ravissement [2008-08-21 02:02:47 +0000 UTC]

i do hope i was not appropriate with you. student or not. i would like to offer critique if wanted. as a teacher i always hesitate my words as type shows no intent, and i hope i have not misled. i truly enjoy the passion of art and all it is. i look forward to more from you.

Ravissement In reply to mountaintrout [2008-08-21 05:35:31 +0000 UTC]

oh yes please critique, I would very much enjoy such a thing. but please do not hesitate a single thing... I enjoy art like you, in all of it's aspects and vantages. take care!

mountaintrout In reply to Ravissement [2008-08-22 16:51:48 +0000 UTC]

i take many things. care is one. from you i would like to take time for myself to wrap your art around what i see in you from our words. first question...."who am i"...you are not your name or you deviant name. you were given a name when you had no control of it and it is how you see the answer to the question, look farther. ask "what am i not?..all the rest will be what and who you are.

Gorgeous! I love self reflective work, it is very inspiring. It is something that one can spend quite some time looking at, reflecting on the meaning and symbolism within it. I really like seeing some of this sort of stuff that you do in crayon and colored pencil, as a parent there is always alot of that around but it is really easy to forget that anything can be turned into an artistic medium.

mountaintrout In reply to heatherspettals [2007-08-20 00:43:33 +0000 UTC]

desire drives us all and shall forever. harnessing it in this society leaves so little of us to be seen. for me i fight like hell against that wall that blocks us all. i live with passion. love with passion. and i try to show that in my work. the world has lost its sense of what passion can be, instead of what they think it is. in each of us we hold passion in its infancy. some never let it learn to walk let alone run. i want to see passion run...

i agree with mythi. beautiful in its complexity. and so direct. colors and shading are superb. but my favorite it the eye. i haven't seen you do eyes like that before. no one can escape the gaze, the strong proud glare from that eye! wow. how do you continue to make one great piece after another? what inspires you? i'm lucky if i get one decent poem out ever few weeks. oh, and i tried drawing a little today.... and um.... yeah, i still suck. but i may try finger painting like you mentioned before. in fact, my husband asked me if our son had been out back drawing on the sidewalk ... no, it was me. not our 3 year old thxkbai

when you look in that eye, it is as i look upon you. i have many paintings and other works with the eye. i studied eyes for years. iv always been amazed at what you get from the eyes of others. i have no voice. my eyes and hands speak for me. and i want them to speak to you.
