Description
When: November 17, 2022
Where: Dierenpark de Oliemeulen Tilburg, the Netherlands
From origin, the zoo focused on Reptiles and Amphibians, so it's really no surprise they still have a lot of those. Here's one we hadn't photographed properly before
Species: Green and Black Poison Dart Frog (Gouden pijlgifkikker)
Latin name: Dendrobates Auratus
Originates from southeastern Nicaragua on the Atlantic slope and southeastern Costa Rica on the Pacific coast through Panama to northwestern Colombia.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…They are semi arboreal – hunting, courting and sleeping in trees – but because they are small and can not jump far enough to span the distance between trees, they return to the ground if they want to travel.
