Thought I'd share a couple of drawings I did a few days ago as a little exercise.I'm doing a bit of volunteer work at Humbug Scrub, a wildlife park near One Tree Hill in South Australia. It's fairly small, but for a family run park, it's very good. One thing I like about the place is the roaming emus. The man who owns it says during certain parts of the year there can be many wild emus just cruising around the place!
Anyways, back to the park- if you're ever in the Adelaide Hills and need something to do, I highly suggest Humbug Scrub. A great array of native Australian wildlife and friendly workers.
I also apologise for the quality of this- it's another ipad photo.
Drawn with an 0.4 Artline felt tip pen.

Ahh~ Giant, googly-eyed chickens, my old enemy, we meet again~ O_O
But ahh~ That really is some gorgeous pen work~
I love all the little details in the feathering, and especially those giant orbs they call eyes, staring deep into your very soul... o_o

Using a pen is pretty much my favourite with traditional media. What better way is there to stop yourself making mistakes than using something you can't erase? :'D

Emus are actually one of the many many animals that have attacked me~ xD
I remember being pecked by one when I was little, and people said it was just trying to peck at the food I was offering it, but I know better! It was a vicious and planned attack with evil intentions! I'm on to you, emu!
Well, that idea certainly seems to be working, because I haven't seen any sort of mistakes in any of your beautiful pen drawings~
(Watercolours are my favourite traditional media, and I have so many different sets of them that people have bought me, but I have no real skill or idea of how to use them :'O)

I've never seen an emu face up close, so I find it very interesting how detailed the one on the left is! I also love the way that the pen strokes look just like an emu's feathers.

They're quite honestly the oddest looking birds. I mean, I know a lot of species of birds, but emus, well, they just take the cake for me, haha.

This reminded me of something because I live in the country around Eudunda and Truro. lol I was on a walk in some paddocks, and there were these wild Emu's just chilling in the distance. I was literally about 400 meters from them and one look from me and they take off like I was about to savage them
