I hope I can find a better title for this. This is ummm- nearly 11x17 mixed media painting. Watercolors, colored pencils, inks, whatever I could lay my hands on. It's one of the more colorful ones that I've done. I think I tried every technique I've ever used and some completely new ones on this!This is from an old pen and ink that I decided to revise and finally turn into a painting. I just finished it tonight, and since it's late, I'm going to celebrate by going to sleep.
EDITED to fix a problem with what the low-resing did to one of the eyes.
Heh. I just realized that this has a heart-shaped composition. You go from the guys's head, down the girl's hair to the falcon, up the dragon's tail to the dragon's head, then over and down to the girl's face. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!!!!

You do know that a recent study has been concluded which states that excessive drawing of knotwork has been linked to raising strange, furry critters whose prefered method of locomotion closely resembles horizontal anti-gravitational propulsion, don't you?

Or that by including such a magnificent level of detail, both in clothing and rendering, will cause still others to leave strange remarks such as "inconceivable!" posted on deviations when all other words fail them?

love the knotwork and the animals. especially adorable was the dragon eating her hair!!!! theres something about his face that i found odd but cant put my finger on it. otherthan that its lovely!

But now as I did - it still shows it a little, but maybe it's only the highlight. Bet in original it's just perfect!

The border is gorgeous, the first this that popped into my head was 'Falconers', if that is any help. The little dragon is a mischief isn't he.
