I love your collage books. I was wondering where you get the images, how you get the textures and whether you make the book itself. So wonderful I really want to give it a try!

There is a physicality to this that is very moving. Splendid work.

So does each page follow the other, and are these meant to be read in order? Is there a meaning, a text, or is this really abstract. It all seems rather like ee cummings, whom I love, and want to love (though really do not understand terribly well in his later phases). I tend to love his older things which are more intelligable. (Like that beautiful poem in Hanna and her Sisters: "No one, not even the rain, has such small white hands."

I got the feeling that you were talking about something like illness, Alzheimers, or maybe death/illness/change etc looming for all of us in this book or progression of pages (and that we are afraid to deal with it and talk about it)... or is it all random and abstract and I just assigned a meaning to your book/pages, and that is what all will do, each with a different meaning.

Or were you trying to say something very specific here.

Am I asking silly questions and showing my lack of understanding of modern art.

Wink.

Lol.

Ah, well.

oh you should read it by row, the process was inspired by a dadaist activity where you cut out random text from a book/magazine and make poems out of them, similar to magnetic poetry then i just make a book out of them.
funny though you think i was talking about illness or something related to it, as i mention in my description this is actually dedicated to someone i like, but no worries i appreciate the queries

i like that poem to you were talking about in hanna and her sisters "somewhere i have never traveled"

thanks

I saw a documentary on PBS about that lady artist, I forget her name, called the "Mama of Dada." At the time of the doc, she was 100, still alive, still vital, still remembered all her Dada friends, talked of it/them lucidly, was still flirty and interested in sex, still sculpting, etc., etc., etc. It was fascinating.

Glad you liked the Cummings poem I mentioned. It is fab, isn't it?!?

hi there, thanks! when i make books like this the text always comes first so, the images i collect/make is inspired by it,
and when i look at other people's work they inspire me too. you can try by having theme or subject.
