Soldiers may be used as tools, but they nonetheless are human.
We sometimes tend to forget that they have faces as well.
Since you emphasize on that soldier's face in particular, people hopefully are going to remember that again.

Everything about this is just beautiful, down to the soldier himself. He reminds me of a ghost. . .some man who fell in the desert and just came back and haunts the place he died. Or maybe the rest of his brothers in their dreams.

Have you by any chance seen the movie Dreams? The dream where an officer comes back from war and sees the soldiers in the platoon he had been commanding, who don't know that they are all dead.

Good shot! The face and expression really is reminiscent of some photographies of young WW! soldiers.

I find the concept of a badass emo soldier a little silly. The emotional range is broader than "unbearable inner anguish". I'd like to see your stuff branch out a bit, but maybe that's just me.

But as stated previously this picture is very daunting indeed. I would be intimidated if I saw you walking towards me like this.
