For the life of me I have no idea what triggered this. I loved the Mega Man series... until Capcom screwed with the mechanics starting with X5 with the code-blue-espionage-striker-delta-force plotelines with Costco-cutback-budgeted-graphics. If you managed to make a series run for over 12 years without making more than 5 tweaks to story or game play then why change it?Alas, here lies Mega Man, taken in his prime due to complications during a routine 32-bit transfer...we shall miss you blue bomber.

Ah well, X, X2, and X4 are more than enough to give my attention span a good work out! I think I captured the scenario down perfectly: Zero getting killed off every other installment even though people keep thinking he's the superior commander, and Sigma assaulting you with his chronically tackier hobby shop body armors.
I think the Win*A*Pegs' dorky style makes the joke work that much better! Enjoy my fellow deviants who think that steel-plated underwear and aqua spandex is optimum protection from bomb blasts.

I loved Megaman X series, but after X4, I found that the gimmick of making Zero die got old the first time it happened. I find that if you see this character is needed so badly to keep the story going, just don't kill them period. I still love it and all, but I find that fell into the trap of it being very obvious that ideas to keep it going have run dry but the authors are still keep it going anyway. If the th want to keep making games anyway, fine by me, but the least they could do is plan them more carefully and they can start by stop killing Zero all the time.

heh, the line mentioning Zero's warranty was funny. Mega Man X is one of my favorite SNES games so you get extra points for that. Love your work

I never really liked the X series, only because everything was based off of animals, which makes you pretty limited. After a while you end up with Aqua Bison, and it's just a big mess. the -man thing was plenty for me, and I didn't need Sigma's animal fetish keeping me up at night. I never played X2 extensivly, nor did I play X3, but I did finish X4 to the end, and I was just asking myself what the hell happened over and over again.
If the robot masters were more impressive, like Shadow Man or Pharoh Man I might've given it more chances, but I Kwanger right out the gate is not a good sign

i luv rockman( i call him rockman : because i got his games in japanese versions and thats what he's called over there )
my fav is rockman x4 and rockman 8 : i got the 3d one ( but in english cause it is RPGish )
rockman does too many sequels though

wow, you JUST posted this bad boy. i gotta say, as a fan of the mega man series (which you should know), i agree, the series went downhill starting with X5. you gotta give em cheesy points for putting way too many guns and roses references in the names of the bosses though. i mean, Axl the Red? Duff McWhalen? jeez. and damn that crafty sigma. i mean, i can understand wily surviving so many times, but sigma? you figure mega would start getting pissed off that he wasnt dead yet, right? anyways, ive ranted on enough. come ping me on AIM you heartless FF9 hater. good work though.

Zero is like Dick Clark, he just never seems to keel over! He self-destructed in X, you duct taped him back together in X2, he had a good run until X5 where he blew himself up inside an atrificial satellite AND got shot thru the chest. Then he just reappeared in X6. Lord knows what'll happen to the red surfer in later, crappier installments. And who cares, Vile rocked anyway!
