Shining Force for the Sega Genesis, brother of Max, ancient warrior, victim of conspiracy, hero-turned-villain-turned-hero.

For a 16bit system game, Kane was certainly scary for young kids, with his evil mask and ruthless actions (he KILLS a 'good guy' in the first chapter of the game!). His design was/is awesome, and he was a pain to fight as a boss. Even if you level grinded your whole team, he could still cut through them with ease. He had a fairly high dodge rate as well. He just more or less stands there like, "Well? Are you going to approach me?", and makes you regret it. And of course, the reveal that he was originally good but controlled through the mask was interesting. Though the fact he doesn't join you, and is eventually killed in a non-avoidable cut-scene, kind of dampened excitement over his character, which is still very cool.
