nice work however the leggings is facing the wrong way, the laces face out. and to respond to IggyHazrds comments, the leggings aren't that bad once you get used to wearing them. I 've worn them for several years at various reenactment events and can lace them up quickly and easily.  they actually keep the dirt, sand, and snow out of the boots.
but artistically a very good job

I saw a photo similar to this painting, but it was a soldier dashing across volcanic ash. It's cool to see it in another part of the war, you did a really great job.

Ah, the dreaded M38 canvas leggings. "Dreaded" because they were tedious to lace up. Typically worn lace out, it might have actually been easier to lace them with the laces inwarn. However, they also had buckles on the understraps that went under the low-ankle shoes issued with them. Having those straps buckled inward might have caused the buckles to be more likely to rub together which would have made movement more cumbersome. Perhaps they should have patterned them off the WWI-era Australian style legging which had double buckles and a wrap-around strap. What they did instead was even better, though, with the advent of the 1943-model "US M1943 combat bo0t," the original combat bo0t (the previous standard had been combat shoes combined with leggings or puttees, puttees being said to have been worse than useless) designed with a distinctive double-buckle ankle cuff. Various bo0ts to this day are still patterened after the M1943 design, including replicas often worn by WWII reinactment enthusiasts -- but only if the reinactment takes place in a 1943-45 setting. If I remember correctly, US Marines continued to be issued the low-ankle shoe/M38 legging combo for the duration of the war.

Looks like, I could never get a hold on the paints though. You're incredible.
