Love it. Looks legit. I don't think this movie will flop like the first two. Marvel has come out with great movies over the past few years (right after FF flopped). ImdaBatman ..... yes J. Storm was drawn originally as a white dude, but there is nothing in his character bio that states he is white. If Idris Elba can be Heimdall and BCD can be Kingpin....why not have J. Storm (a brash, reckless, troubled, mechanic) be a black guy? Plus MBJ is one hell of an actor. He might be able to give Chris Evans a run at this role. Dude is that talented.

Okay, yeah, point taken.
And I was perfectly fine with Idris Elba as Heimdall (though I'm kinda confused...is he still supposed to be Siff's brother?) and I actually prefer Duncan's portrayal of Kingpin. I guess there's just some cases where this kind of thing works and some where it doesn't. (No, I don't know what the rules are)
Or maybe I'm just being pessimistic because Fantastic 4 movies are more consistently terrible than any other franchise. Whatever, I stopped caring like a week ago.

Nice. But haven't there been enough superhero films? Isn't it high time for a decent superhero TV show? I'm talking prime time here, no cartoons. Hey, I like a good movie as much as the next person, but a motion picture series can only tell four or five stories at best, while a TV show, if done right, gives viewers a much better understanding of the lore that makes a comic book character/s great.
Spider-Man in particular could use a good series. His life is such a soap opera, but only comic book fans know that because it takes dozens of stories to tell properly.
Besides, the background of any superhero is complex, and movie makers often give in to the temptation to introduce too much too soon, as with Spider-Man 3, while at the same time being sure to include proven material, as in Man of Steel. There are more villains than just Zod, you know.
As for the FF, I'm glad to see something different being done with Johnny. He's become such a joke, so perpetually immature in all ways. I dread the thought of seeing another rubber-suited Thing, though.

Personally, I love seeing everything I grew up with adapted to the big screen, so my answer is that there'll never be enough.
But I do agree, a Spider-Man TV show would be perfect, we could even get it on AMC b/c of Sony's license. At least we're getting Constantine, Gotham, The Flash, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, AKA Jessica Jones, The Defenders, Agent Carter, and we already have the fantastic Arrow, and the disappointing Agents of SHIELD. So I think you'll be happy within the next year or two!

...I can already tell the reboot will flop just like the first 2. And I'm not trying to be racist here. Lazy casting and "not being racist" are not the same thing, and Hollywood needs to get that through their thick heads.

ImdaBatman In reply to MrSteiners [2013-12-31 21:19:55 +0000 UTC]
I'm just saying. It's like how they've cast a white guy as Shredder for the next TMNT film. (Proving that I'm not being racist) It's not the race specifically, its their physical resemblance to the character. Plus, if Mandarin was any example, it also means this is the first step to the movie sucking.

MrSteiners In reply to ImdaBatman [2014-01-01 14:28:12 +0000 UTC]
Well, there's where your argument becomes invalid. Race and resemblance doesn't matter as much as acting ability, and if you're watching a film, acting ability should be one of the biggest things that draw you in, not if the character looks exactly like the actor, but if that actor mentally embodies the character. As for your Iron Man 3 remark, it was a poorly written plot twist, that didn't make the film bad, it just changed built up direction, if that twist had not occurred, I can guarantee that the Kingsley's performance would be praised, with not a single comment about him not being Chinese. Also, if you have to clarify that you're not being racist, you're being a racist.

ImdaBatman In reply to MrSteiners [2014-01-03 17:31:57 +0000 UTC]
-So, if Seth Rogen is good at acting like Oliver Twist, he should be cast as him? I don't know, I guess my brain is just wired differently. I'm just not as good at recognizing how good a person is at acting as other people, so resemblance is the first thing I have in mind. I'm just really bad at casting
-Yeah, IM3 was a bad example. I really meant it as more of an "omen of bad things to come" type-example
-Well, if I am, then I'm not trying to be, and I'm sorry. I used to think people just gave these issues too much thought, but now I don't know what to think. Micheal Jordon as the Human Torch just makes it feel like a parody, that's my point here.

It's just that if you feel the need to point out you're not a racist, you probably are since the subject of racism hadn't even come up, yet it's clearly on your mind. It just smacks of denial, see? Just so you know.
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
ImdaBatman In reply to thetrellan [2014-02-25 23:27:42 +0000 UTC]
Also, that logic has never made any sense to me. Denial means you're automatically guilty? What the hell are you supposed to do? Let everyone believe you're guilty instead of pleading your case?

ImdaBatman In reply to thetrellan [2014-02-25 23:21:35 +0000 UTC]
Okay, point taken. I guess I don't really feel a need to point it out, I just feel like it's always one of the first conclusions people jump to, regardless of the actual intent. It's not a race issue, it's a "natural fanboy aversion to change" issue. I just want to make sure I'm being clear on that. Ugh, I'm doing it again, aren't I?
Actually, y'know what? Screw the whole damn topic! When you think about it, what does it matter anyway? It's a Fantastic 4 movie. It's gonna suck no matter who's playing who! Y'know why? Because nobody can do a Fantastic 4 movie right!

Terrific job done here, very beautiful work, the colours and how well the photos mesh together is just astonishing. About that other guy's comment, eh, I really didn't like 'The Amazing Spider-Man', but, that could just be my over attachment and love for the original trilogy. Everybody's got their own opinion, and so I respect yours even if some don't respect mine. I do however agree in a sense with you that 'First Class' was pretty great and a huge stepping stone ever since that really low dip that came after 'X2' but not the greatest superhero movie of all time, though it is up there somewhere.

I'm also on board with Michael B. Jordan landing the role. He seems like a nice, talented actor and just like Josh Trank I love what they both did in 'Chronicle', I just hope they explain the racial difference. Or maybe they won't need to! My top candidate for Sue is Paula Patton, another really great and down to Earth actress.

mmm, this may not even happen and even so, it might not even be that good:
FOX have gone through about six screen-writers and director Josh Tank will pull out if it isn't done by next year.
I think that Fox are just trying to keep the rights to them.
Just tinking though, would this mean that Johnny and Sue aren't related (as brother and Sister?) This doesn't really make much difference, I'd just like them to stick to the original story.

I agree about First Class - it's first drawer. Hilarious, I know. The two leads McAvoy and Fassbender are not only cast well, but they're the best actors out there for their age. It really came together well, but you have to admit something has gone wrong when the mosquito girl is chasing after the supersonic screaming kid and they're flyin' around - funniest scene in all of comic book movies -never should've made the final cut!

Hopefully it's just a rumor about changing Johnny Storms race, just doesn't make sense to me. The way i see it if they want to have more black characters in the CBMs then why not make CBMs based off the black characters that already exist. Where's the Black Panther movie, Luke Cage, Spawn 2 or a reboot? Green Lantern flopped so bring on John Stewart. And if they're going to change race why does it have to be black? Like Kingpin in Daredevil, now i love Michael Clark Duncan (RIP) but why not make him Samoan, Chinese or Japanese you know, he could have been a Sumo Wrestler lol
Cool work btw on the poster

That route would be taken as an easy way for them to add diversity, but still not fully commit to it. The adopted thing doesn't really develop Johnny's character. Making Sue black would add more diversity and also touch on interracial relationships which hasn't been touched on in cbm's. Only one I can think of in actual comics is Luke Cage and whatever the other girls name is.
