You clearly don't understand what 'emo' means.
'Emo' is short for 'emotional'. It's like another label for someone with depression, esp. when said person self-harms.
Emo is not a style, it isn't a form of art, and it most certainly cannot be judged by appearance.
Take your average blond haired, blue eyed female who tans on a daily basis and worries about her diet more than she should because her body is perfectly average for her age and height. She could easily be 'emo'. She could go home and cry her poor eyes out and cut up her wrists/arms/legs/etc. Hell, the whole reason she tans and worries about her diet is because of the same reason she cuts herself up. Because she's depressed and doesn't feel like she's worth anything.
If you're going to idiotically judge a popular photograph because of the model's damn hair style, do it right. That hair style is more of a scene thing. (Scene is a style, it's a label of appearance. See the difference?)
And this definitely isn't only popular because of his hair style. He has a very nice body and those wings are pretty damn nice too. If you notice, this photo is under the category "fetish portraits". It's meant to be "weird". I assume the fetish in this picture is either the cigarette or the wings, as I know many people with either one or both of those fetishes.
There was obviously effort put into the picture. The pose, the background, the lighting, and don't even get me started on where the hell they could've gotten/how long it could've taken to make those wings.
Anything that an artist puts effort into deserves recognition, and thus deserves a DD.

That's really stupid mentality, saying given DDs to weird things? Wth? To you maybe it doesn't appeal you, but to others , many will appreciate it. This kind of photography isn't my taste too, but I know there will be other people will love it , and maybe will be inspired by it!
Well, don't you think that there is some people may go to your gallery and think you're weird for drawing only adoptables stuffs? Lol. This is why you should not stuck with drawing in one style, it made you close-minded about any other art style.
Now, not meaning to be rude but you shouldn't comment something like that here. This got a DD because they deserve it, not because the guy is "emo."

I find the cigarette with the angel wings a tad bit pointless. WHY?
He also probably is hot, but this photo did nothing good to his figure nor his face.
