And so, here's the design for Soleil Walker in "As Seen in 1776!", since what's an American Revolution story without a redcoat enemy to stand against? PLEASE READ YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Once Theodore, Kristoff, and Keondre join the Continental Army to fight heroically and patriotically for American Independence, they confront the British Grenadiers out on the battlefield. Everything seems to be going smooth at first, 'cause it's infantry vs. infantry (no one's got a good upper hand for now). But then, that's when she arrives...

Dressed in her cavalry uniform, she rides atop her cavalry horse, equipped with a cavalry carbine, cavalry flintlock, and a cavalry sabre as she leads her men into battle. When Walker arrives, all she has to say to the infantry is...

"Do I even need to say it, love?" *Rule Britannia plays in the distance*

Not really getting the in-joke, Theodore, Kristoff, and Keondre taunt General Walker by saying that her army smells like animal butt (well, they're on horses). She gets increasingly disappointed when she hears that they will not apologize for their mutiny, and will spell "apologize" with a "z" and "flavor" without a "u". It's the last straw for her, so she commands a swift yet ferocious cavalry charge against the Continental Army. Overpowered, the Patriots enlist the help of the French in the form of a musketeer named Josephine Guillard, who's one job is to snipe out General Walker. However, it seems nearly impossible since Walker is "England's Swiftest Cavalry Woman". *cue Non, Je ne regrette rien as Guillard readies her rifle for a Walker headshot*

(speaking of which, I can barely get a headshot as Widowmaker)

Okay, so Soleil's outfit design is supposed to be a fancy and feminine riding habit, based on the looks of the 16th Light Dragoons /Queen's Lancers . I took a few creative liberties here, since cavalry headgear was different than infantry hats (cavalry seemed to sport special helmets with horsehair tassels, while infantry usually stuck to the tricorne hats and occasionally mitre hats depending on the regiment). I chose to give her the basic tricorne hat since she's wearing a riding habit (which had those hats as a standard). Her men probably have the horsehair tassel helmets. (side note: British infantry were called "Grenadiers", and cavalry were "Dragoons").

One special thing I want to talk about. The "GR" logo you see in British military of this time is what is called a "royal cypher", and here it is referring to to King George III (it's supposed to be read "George Rex", though I think there were 3 consecutive Georges in the 18th century, so this is "George 3 Rex"). I researched them and found that you can find them on buildings and mailboxes all over the United Kingdom; the current cypher in use being "E II R" (read: "Elizabeth 2 Regina"). I found out about them after an Overwatch streamer named "Stylosa" noted that it was something royal on one of the Archives skins earlier this year. After learning about royal cyphers, I just wanted to slap 'em all over General Walker here (apparently cavalry regiments had it on their horse saddles).

Also here's a bit of character info: in the main series, Soleil is fascinated with her home country's cavalry; their history, development, and tactics. She is just so in love with the idea of riding a horse into a battlefield and how the thrill and adrenaline rush of it all must feel. (I think I lost count of how many times I said "cavalry" in the description)
