nah, they never met in the original storyline
people were just so amused by the rich girl/poor boy pairing (i mean, who doesn't like that? Jinora isn't exactly a rich girl, but she is a descendant of the Air people, which is plenty special enough)
plus, they're similar ages (appearance-wise)
my friend made me draw them and i just somehow got roped into the fandom XD
