The theme was Topsy Turvy. I had four spot colours to work with and experimented with overlaying them to achieve the colours I did. It's composed as such so that no details were lost in the fold and it works vaguely as two pictures.

That root vegetable in the foreground feels strangely significant...

Woah, good detective work! Originally he was going to be a vegetabley, root man and his head would be kind of turnip-like. The idea was that there would be other ones buried in the ground that were his brothers. Things happened though and I ended up redrawing the entire thing last minute but I left his brothers in there.

I don't know how you manage to consistently get so much visual impact in one picture, but you do do it somehow. I always love your ability draw out a scene: everything down to showing distance and the color choice. Thank you for reminding me why I say on this site
