Description I had the pleasure of working with the incredible Vince Nguyen [link] here at Blue Sky on this piece! This sculpture is based on his character he designed for a children’s book. (I'll try scanning in the drawing I used to create this scupt) I must say, these talented folks I work with in the design dept. sure keep me busy with all these "SIMPLE" designs. Hard and time consuming to sculpt, but so fun nonetheless!

The helmet is detachable.

Dead on model to the artwork! Isn't it always that way? The simpler the character, the harder it is to pull it off! Gorgeous! I'll bet the subtle features of the boys face kept you busy [at least for a little while!].

I checked out the illustration and what perfect timing to cause i needed examples of childrens book illustrations cause im tackling my first 0.0
LOVED it! lol and loved teh fact that hes riding a dodo bird! <3

Hey Hey! I wish there were plans to paint it, its up to Vince...I think since the characters are so colorful, it would be so neat to see it painted. But then again, there's something about gray that gives it it's original style He's thinking about it. I would love to cast a few of these then it would definitely be painted. We'll see

Hey there! Thanks for the kind words!

To set up the back drop, I use a dark gray color paper roll. And two lighting structures. One as a key light and one as a rim light. Hope that helps!

sculptor is the real modeller!
The finish model that sculptor sculpted is the real model that can be touched with.
