's Grievous

Extra credit time! Finally got this completed. It's been a pencil rough forever and I finally got the time freed up to work on it over the weekend. And then... Paint Shop Pro died. I suspect the latest big security patch killed it -- it runs, but the color picker pallet is gone and won't display no matter what I do. And Corel is terrible about supporting older versions of their software. I ended up downloading Paint.NET, which is free and good. I use it now at work since PSP died on my Win7 machine, too. I'll probably also load up the GIMP as well.

o0O------------------Art Tools--------------------------O0o

Pencil, paper, kneadable eraser for the initial layups.
Inking done with brush markers and pens.
Coloring done with lots of watercolor, mostly Prang and Koi. Paint.NET used for everything else like compositing, word balloons and touch ups.

This is good stuff I love the slanted panelling - it gives an easy and breezy feeling to me while I read. The whole sequence feels really friendly, warm and wholeseome, and I feel as though I'm actually there

Thank you so much! It felt good to do a proper little manga page after so long. Heh-heh I didn't have time to do proper shading and now that I'm looking at it I realize the horses have "magical disappearing saddles" from panel to panel. I'll have to fix that once I get my software working again. It's really awful to have my main digital art tool not-working.

I do like to try some fun with the panel shapes -- the western scene felt like informal shapes would be nice.

Ha! An ill wind _does_ blow some good.

Reminds me I have to fix the bathtub faucet handle...

LOL, good luck with that. I've been doing some home repair every weekend. Keeps me off the streets for sure.
