Description Hmmm, these new categories have me even more confused than the ones before. Is this character in a manga style? I chose no, but who the hell knows anymore.

Hmm, what what. It's a random samurai character, no story or idea or anything. I could have done a better job at colouring, but that's the way it turned out. Whatever. ;___;

Brown brush-tip pens, Copic markers.

I almost scrapped this one – that is, handed it over to my drawing buddy as totally inferior work – but a few hours later it didn't seem such a big failure. But I dunno. I need to get better at this.

I love it!

You've got the style perfect, like an updated version of the pictures of samurai that you see in classic japanese art.

Good angles to his face and your colouring is good, as always, indicating the folds of his clothing with minimal effort.

Thank you! As always, I wish I could or could put more effort into the colouring part, as I don't like to see those individual pen strokes stand out.

Visible strokes is ok with me - lots of famous artists have left visible strokes. I think if they distracted from the overall painting that would be bad but yours seem fine - there but not in the way.

Well, I shall take your word for it! It's hard to be objective about your own work.

Ohh, but I like this. I wouldn't say it's really manga-styled. It seems stylised but not in a manga kind of way, you know? And yes, those sepia tones are love. Also I love how he seems friendly at the first glance but when you look at him more closely he starts looking shifty XD

Thanks! I know my style has a lot of influences from manga & comics, but it's hard to say from your own work if it's one thing or another. I didn't notice that thing about the look, but now that you mention it... XD
