Good move. It doesn't do to dwell on cheerful and happy-go-lucky topics...

How do you do your line work?
I've got Cs5 and a Wacom Intuo4 and my line work is well to put it blunt .... shit, is it just constant practice? (I even muck up the pen tool!?!)

Pshop CS3, Wacom Intuo3 and me. I have had alot of practice and experimented alot. Some good, some awful. During the 40 years of my existance, I have looked at other artists work, to find out what makes their work look good (ie. linework - crosshatching, line strengths, simple line effects, etc.). I find that you have to, in your mind, breakdown an artists creation process to the bare basics from what they started with, and follow their creative flow.

I may be just dribbling, for all I know. It just takes time till you find a style that you are happy with. Hope that helps a bit.

Perfectly clear, it's kinda what I've been doing but I'm always crap at it, my pencil work is better than my pen/tablet but there is still a similar style and I just can't seem to improve on it.

Thank you

Np. Look at the art of artists that inspire you to do art. Even different mediums helps sometimes. Look at how they create, sample their different techniques, and merge this mixture into what makes you happy. It is an experiment. If you copy just one artist, as you will know, you end up with a Xerox of their work, and that is bad. Not original and nothing learned.

All the best with your artyness.
