ikr. And I know people who have never played any sonic games, nor read any of the comics, but still talk about sonic because they see it online. You have to actually read the comics and play the games (or at least watch gameplay of the games) to actually understand sonic.

They are from the Arcie comics.
In their sonic multiverse, there is an universe (or zone) that's penpendicular to all the others, "passing" through them. The inhabitants of that world have taken the duty of protecting the multiverse as the Zone Cops.
Zonic is Sonic's counterpart in that universe, and one of the best cops there is.
