Another memory experiment. I look at the photo for 15 minutes and paint for 30, and then repeat as necessary til I finish.

This one went less well, but I still feel I learned and absorbed some nice details here and there, so it might be worth taking a look I guess!

Interesting experiment! Would you say it's worth doing for the purposes of improvement?

Yes, it trains your eye to remember things much more precisely. I still need a lot of work with this method, but I find it is already helping me with certain things like color memory.

You're alive! Hehe, hey You sure are enjoying these small canvases, aren't you? I think the colours and the light are very nice! They seem both natural and strong. But you still need to pay attention to the slopes at the shore. They are too strong don't seem to sit in the space. And even though the canvas is small, I think you should try to add some subtle details in the mountains, to emphasize their size....because if you look at the reference, it appears quite vast and huge, and in order to convey that, it is important to get these sharp horizontals in the water and a decent amount of detail and structure in the mountains
But memory exercises sure are fun, I'm doing that too sometimes Shows me how bad I am at memorizing
