Description (click Download to see full size version)

So, I had been asked several times to provide a tutorial of how I make my collages. (this took me a lot longer than I had expected)
This isn't exactly how I make mine, but it's very close. I thought it might help those, who are not very experiences with digital image processing. I hope it helps some of you to present your artisan crafts in a more appealing manner without having to post several deviations.

I'll provide a few links for you guys here. First off, this is where you can get the GIMP if you don't have it yet. If you have other photo editing software, check it for similar functions!

A few tutorials that might help you to get great images that you can then cut together with the help of this tutorial:
's awesome Craft Photography Guide
Check it out, it explains the basics of good craft photography and gives you several good hints and tips to help you improve your photographs.
's Pics with crappy camera and
's setting your studio will also help to get the most out of your photography.
's How to edit artisan craft photos might help you to prepare your images before starting with your collage.

If you have trouble with very grainy pictures, try NeatImage to reduce the noise.

Hope this helps!
If you know of any other great tutorials for artisan craft presentation, please let me know!

Thank you for making it. I can also refer people to it when I see someone else who might need the suggestions and guidance.

I put it in my fave gallery category under authors. Eventually I may set up one just for tutorials. For now, I can access it quickly from there.

Again, nice of you take time to work it out for others.
