So, this is how I made a bunch of fridge magnets as Christmas presents. My friends and family really liked these, though some images were a bit too small to be recognized, so try to use clear images with high contrast and not too much clutter!

If you use this tutorial, I'd love to see your results!
Other magnets I made like this:

Those are awesome! I really like the way the pictures look through the pebbles
I'd really like to do these, but first I'd need to hunt some of those pebbles down x) So when and if I sometimes do those, I'll throw the pictures your way

Good luck finding them, shouldn't be too hard! They sell them in different sizes, too.

They're just small zip lock bags and cardstock.

I like to save those magnets that places give out, like in goodie bags, you know? And then you can use a little cardboard and a picture and some glossy sealant to make those fancy picture fridge magnets. You can also cut them into shapes for bigger or weirdly shaped stuff like this.

I guess I could do a tutorial, but my apartment, it is the messy.

Yes, I know what you mean. Those are great for decorating. If you do find the time, please do make a tutorial, they are great for people to get some ideas!

I made one of these as a test ages ago and it still looks good on my fridge. All I need now is a huge pile of magnets to use the rest of the pebbles I have

Nice tutorial btw

Lol, I told my mom about it, and she went out and bought me a bag of the clear pebbles.
I think I may make her a set of magnets with pictures of my nephew in it for her for mother's day. Or maybe a set with apples and abc's for her graduation from teacher's college this summer! Ahh, the possibilities!
Thank you again for posting the tutorial!

They're very easy to make, might be a bit small though, but maybe you can find bigger glass pebbles

nice job! I've been doing these for years and about 2 years ago my MIL dropped off a bag of HUGE clear pebbles. They're bigger than a quarter! She gets them at a Target in Washington, and Ive seen them at a Super Target in the whole home decor section. I guess theyre for filling up vases and whatnot, but they're perfect. Theyre what I use here: [link]
maybe that might help if you have bigger ones?

MyntKat In reply to quidditchmom [2009-01-04 19:24:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, bigger ones would be cool for bigger pictures, but then you'd need bigger magnets, too. I guess whatever you can get your hands on is great
