how large does this variety of podenco's get? at first when I saw the thumbnail I thought this was an Ibizan but now I can see it's different haha

That's a good question and I really dunno the answer. It's at least saluki size, even a bit taller I think. Actually I think he is an Ibizan but there actually is a bigger variation of them... or was it like portugese is the small and Ibizan big? Got no idea
And thanks for the comment, too! I appreciate that great shot -term. It wasn't very easy, rainy and cold weather + no good spot for a photographer. And I like the sand better than grass as a background.

Oh so Ibizans are the big podengos? There's 3 varieties of podengo's, pequeno, medio, and grande, annd I believe the pequeno ones are akc accepted?

And you're welcome! I completely understand shooting in the rain and cold weather, it's awful, but I'd rather shoot when it's cloudy than when it's sunny haha, I can't stand that harsh shadows/highlights.

cloudy is perfect... when you get to be close enough.
Lenses with f/4.5-5.6, quick targets, long distance and not enough light make it suck
