Description I had some new ink to try out, so I made this little card with an octopus on it. They are one of my favorite animals.

I'm too lazy to write a long description here. Sorry guys X) Maybe I'll elaborate and write some other stuff here later.

Media used: winsor&newton ink, some other unidentified brand of ink

I'm writing a novel as part of a Nerdist/Inkshares competition about a video-game playing octopus and would be interested in paying someone to do some concept artwork. I love what you have done and so wondered if you would be interested in talking? You can check out my story at www.inkshares.com/books/squids…  It's currently in 5th place overall. The top 3 get immediately published.

Thanks! I love octopuses too. They are one of my favorite animals.

I have some trouble with uploading this deviation though. May I ask you a question about it? Does this picture look a lot darker than the one in the lower left corner here: [link] ? Because the colors of the pictures change on my screen when I upload them to DA. :/ I'd like to fix this, but first I need to know if this problem occurs just on my screen or on other people's screens too.

Certainly the colours are quite different - there is a lot more red in the scanned version, the photo looks far more brown. However, i don't really think that that's a problem, it looks great either way. It doesn't look any darker, it has about the same tonal values as the photo. The problem could be easily fixed with photoshop i think.

Thank you for answering that! I appreciate it. I don't have photoshop, but I'll see what I can do in GIMP.

This isn't really much of a problem with this deviation, but I make some traditional commissions for people too and if the picture I upload looks different from the original I ship to them, they'll be disappointed D: So I want to fix that for them.

ah well, i don't know gimp Yeah, that's fair enough. Actually, the degree of colour change was quite remarkable - i usually don't notice what most people whine about - so it would definitely be worth fixing in the future c:
