Description
This was my final project for my Japanese pop culture class I took this semester. We had to pick a subject of Japanese pop culture to make a project about, and of course I chose godzilla. Since the piece was meant to be about his globalization and how he got a rough start in America in 1998, I decided to draw the original godzilla fighting the 1998 Godzilla, or as the fans call him, “Zilla.” I thought it was fitting, especially because toho hated a so much they made him get destroyed by Godzilla in Final Wars.

This is the first time I’ve actually drawn Zilla, and he was fun to draw! I have mixed feelings on the 1998 movie, but I’ll admit Zillas design is a guilty pleasure for me.
